Askrigg’s location within the national park makes it ideal for trekking, cycling and driving through the spectacular scenery, with many walks starting from your front door. In nearby Hawes, you’ll have an excellent museum you can visit (6 miles), as well as a creamery selling yummy cheeses (6 miles). Aysgarth (4 miles) is an impressive site to visit, with its tiered waterfalls. At Semer Lake (4 miles) you can take easy or challenging walks, or try out some water sports such as canoeing, sailing and windsurfing all on offer.
