This delightful pet-friendly cottage is located in Askrigg, an elevated Yorkshire Dales village featured in BBC’s TV series ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. The spot is dripping with rustic charm, with many of its buildings – including this holiday home – made from raw stonework. You’ll have a lovely pub and a shop within 200 metres, and a tearoom and craft shops within 500 metres. This traditional property has space for four guests over its two bedrooms, so is ideal for a couple, a family trip or a small group of friends.

Brimming with rustic features like ceiling beams, a wood burner and a stone hearth, this terraced house has a traditional homely atmosphere. Leave your coats in the hallway before stepping into the kitchen/diner, a welcoming space with neat units. a dining table in the middle and additional bench seating. The nearby lounge is a lovely spot for catching up a book, a board game or some TV, with its comfy sofas and dual-aspect windows. Outside, there are two patios for sitting and enjoying the fresh air – a small one at the front and a second at the rear.

Askrigg’s location within the national park makes it ideal for trekking, cycling and driving through the spectacular scenery, with many walks starting from your front door. In nearby Hawes, you’ll have an excellent museum you can visit (6 miles), as well as a creamery selling yummy cheeses (6 miles). Well equpped, comfortably furnished, great location. Great walking from the door and in the local area - no need to drive anywhere. Everything we needed for a lovely stay over Christmas and New Year. The weather was mixed during our break but the cottage was perfect for warming up and relaxing after a wet walk!
