Located in the charming market town of Hawes, this family-friendly holiday home offers a cosy base from which to explore with traditional styling and statement pieces of furniture throughout. For a relaxing break, you can leave the car at home and venture into the town to peruse the markets, eat tasty treats in the cafes and soak up the friendly atmosphere.
Upon entering the property the cosy living room entices you in to kick back and relax with two comfortable sofas positioned in front of the stone fireplace to watch a film or read a book. Through the hall, the dining space is full of character, with pew-style seating and a selection of chairs ensuring space for all to gather together for a meal. The kitchen is just steps away, with an island at its centre and gorgeous views of Drumaldrace out of the window to enjoy whilst you’re cooking. All three bedrooms are situated upstairs on the first floor, all benefitting from far-reaching views of the hills. Bedroom one features a double bed and plenty of storage space with calming neutral colours throughout, as well as an en-suite shower room. The final two rooms feature a double bed and twin beds making this a great option for those travelling with friends or family. Finally is the family shower room, decorated in a mixture of white and wood. Extending the living space outside is the large patio and garden, set over two levels with privacy provided by the mature trees and shrubs around the perimeter.
South of Hawes you’ll find a number of hills to climb, including Drumaldrace (4 miles) which is certainly worth the challenging climb to see the views from the summit. Head off in search of whimsical waterfalls and you’ll find Hardraw Force (2 miles) and Cotter Force (3 miles) both of which are mesmerising to watch, and have short, circular walks around them for a slower paced adventure. For the foodies of the group, Wensleydale Creamery (1 mile) is a must-visit to shop for fine cheeses and to taste-test the indulgent menu in the cafe and restaurant.
