This sweet holiday home is located on the edge of Hawes, a vibrant market town deep in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. You’ll have wonderful walking and cycling trails leading right from your front door, including the Pennine Way National Trail, which you can join 0.5 miles away. With local sites like Aysgarth Falls (10 miles) and Castle Bolton (12.5 miles) within easy reach, you’ll find plenty to keep you busy nearby. This holiday home would suit a family or two couples holidaying together, with space for four guests over its two bedrooms.
The cottage has an upside-down layout, with one bedroom downstairs and the living quarters on the first floor. There’s a dual-aspect lounge offering with a sofa, TV and electric fire to keep you cosy on those chilly Yorkshire nights. In the wood-finished kitchen, cook up hearty meals using local produce from Hawes’ market (held on Tuesdays), then enjoy them with a glass of wine at the circular dining table. There’s a twin room on the ground floor while the double bedroom is upstairs. Both are decorated in a homely style to ensure you feel welcome during your stay.
Locally there’s a pub, shop and chippy within 150 metres, as well as an excellent countryside museum 500 metres away. Hawes has independent craft stores you can explore before popping into a local café for tea and cake. If you’re keen to learn more about local cheese, the Wensleydale Creamery (500 metres) should be on your itinerary. For a scenic viewing experience, climb up to the 716-metre-high Great Shunner Fell (4.5 miles) and soak up the panoramic vistas from there.
