Property code: OC-S038

Escape the daily grind at this charming barn-conversion on the edge of the peaceful village of Seamer - just 4 miles outside Scarborough. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, this traditional home is perfect for small families or groups of friends who are craving a taste of country living. During the day, head to the breathtaking North York Moors National Park to enjoy a picnic; and in the evening, take a seat in the cottage’s pretty outdoor seating area, pour yourself a drink and watch the stars come out.

Step inside and you can’t help but admire the exposed wooden beams in the charming rustic-style lounge. Take a moment to relax on the sofa by the electric stove-effect fire, and then head to the country-style kitchen to rustle up some dinner for your loved ones. Get everyone together to eat in the cosy dining area or head outside to dine alfresco while you soak up the country views. After dinner, grab a drink and enjoy the cool evening air, or head back to the lounge to curl up in front of the TV. At the end of the day, there are lovely two bedrooms to choose from: one has a double bed and great country views, and the other has two single beds that can be transformed into a king-size bed. Please note there is a static caravan behind the cottage.

Head into Scarborough (4 miles) to check out the Market Hall and Vaults. You’ll find plenty of local specialties, crafts and unique gifts. Alternatively, take a trip down memory lane when you browse the fascinating collection of antique carnival rides, mechanical organs and steam-powered engines at the Scarborough Fair Collection (4 miles). In the evening, catch a show at the renowned Stephen Joseph Theatre (5 miles).

Really enjoyed our stay at Piglet Cottage. The owners are very friendly and helpful and there's everything you need equipment wise. It's also a great location for exploring the East coast and the village has a well stocked supermarket and I would recommend the Mayfield pub if you wanted to eat out of the fish and chip shop over the road.
