This romantic hideaway is nestled within the North York Moors National Park, on the edge of the pretty village of Sleights. A 0.5-mile stroll brings you into the centre of the village, where you’ll find local shops, a tearoom, and cosy pub. You’ll also be just 4.5 miles from the seaside town of Whitby. In the evenings, sip a sundowner on the patio and watch the steam trains majestically chug through the valley below.
The luxurious studio apartment has been beautifully decorated and furnished, with carefully chosen little touches to make your stay as comfortable as possible (including a welcome hamper of tasty treats). The accommodation is open plan and has been cleverly divided into several cosy areas. Spend time trying new recipes in the sleek kitchen area, before perching at the breakfast bar or enjoying dinner for two at the dining table by the wood burner. The living area, with a sumptuous sofa and armchair, is set next to the patio doors, so you can admire the spectacular views whilst reading a book or watching the Smart TV. When day turns to night, retire to the elegant king-size bed. A separate bathroom completes the accommodation. Outside, you’ll find a patio with outdoor furniture for dining and relaxation, along with an enclosed lawn that’s perfect for four-legged guests.
The moors village of Grosmont is 2 miles away. Here, you can board the steam trains of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, to enjoy a scenic jaunt to the market town of Pickering. In summer, trains also depart to Whitby – a thriving seaside town, with cobbled streets, sandy beaches, spectacular coastal walks, and a plethora of independent cafes, pubs, and restaurants. The town is also home to the atmospheric ruins of Whitby Abbey, said to be the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
