A step leads up into the cottage which has a welcoming lounge with a Smart TV, comfortable seating and a roaring wood burner, making a great space for everybody to get together and unwind after a fantastic day out. The airy kitchen/diner is perfect for cooking and sharing all your favourite family dishes. Heading up the stairs, the first floor offers a light and spacious bathroom and three beautiful bedrooms: a cheerful single, a sweet twin room with a Smart TV, and a relaxing king-size room also with a Smart TV. From the kitchen, a stable door leads down a step to the picturesque garden. Surrounded by a stone wall with a wrought-iron gate, the delightful south-facing garden has two separate seating areas offering open views over the dales, providing a lovely space to enjoy meals alfresco.

The small rural village of Carperby lies in the Richmondshire district of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, midway between the friendly market towns of Hawes (10 miles to the west) and Leyburn (8 miles to the east), both with a range of great pubs and shops. Local attractions and landmarks include Aysgarth Falls, the ruins of Richard III’s Middleham Castle, Harmby Waterfall, Bolton Castle and The Forbidden Corner, all within 10 miles.

The property was lovely and had everything you needed .The bed was really comfortable and we slept well.The garden was fully enclosed which was very good for our two french bulls. The village pub was in walking distance and the food and drink was exceptional. We would definitely return.

The property only had one toilet which proved difficult to manage with a whole family. I recommend you install a downstairs toilet (even a small one) which would help a lot. Also, parking was not good. For future guests, please provide instructions of how to set the heating. The website info did not mention that the property had a washer/dryer. ThiRead mores was great but it would have helped prior to hiring as we were on a long trip and did most of our washing (inconveniently and at great expense) prior to taking the cottage. If we had of known about the washer/dryer, it would have helped us a lot. Other than that, the cottage was great. Thank you! Hide
