For a fun family adventure, take a trip to this single-level lodge in the Yorkshire Dales National Park to soak up the natural beauty of the area and spend quality time with one another inside or out on the deck. Less than half a mile from your doorstep is Crake Wood and the River Ure where you can spend a day in search of rare wildlife, flora, fauna and picturesque picnic spots.

Warm and welcoming, the wood-clad living room has three sofas to ensure the whole family can sprawl out and relax. A TV and electric flame effect fire complete the setup, offering entertainment and a lovely atmosphere for quiet evenings spent at your holiday home. At one end of the room is the rustic dining table with chunky chairs and bench seating, perfect for a grand celebratory feast, or an evening of board games. The kitchen is sleek and modern, utilising the space but remaining in keeping with the natural wood feel of the rest of the property. Bedroom one is a delightful double with a comfortable bed where you can rest your head, whilst the other bedroom is a twin, complete with an en-suite and suitable for both adults and children. There is also a family bathroom with a bathtub and overhead shower. Step outside and the deck is a great place to soak up the sunshine, with a picnic table for al fresco dining and beautiful woodland views.

Masham is a lively market town just 4 miles away where you'll have a small selection of fine local eateries, galleries and interesting shops to peruse at your leisure. Pay a visit to the Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park (8 miles) to wander through 45 acres of thick woodlands filled with fascinating sculptures and an impressive rhododendron collection. Or, for a spot of history, head to Richmond Castle (12 miles) to admire the fantastic views from its cliff-top location above the River Swale which is known as the best-preserved early Norman castle in England.

We had a very enjoyable few days in Birch Lodge. Lovely peaceful location but with easy access to nearby towns, villages and countryside walks. Beds were comfortable, as was the rest of the lodge. Lovely decking area, though the sun goes behind the trees about 2pm. Plenty of interesting places to visit round about. Excellent play area for childreRead moren adjoining Masham cricket Club. Hide

Our 2nd visit to this beautiful lodge. The setting is perfect and ideal for those who want peace and quiet in a beautiful countryside setting. Only 4 lodges on this spacious site which has been very carefully laid out to secure maximum privacy for each of the lodges. Lovely lodge in a very peaceful and quiet location. We were wary about booking as this is a pet friendly lodge and we don't have pets but, despite very light coloured furnishings, there was no evidence whatsoever of any pets being there. Not one solitary dog hair and no odour whatsoever. Credit to the person who looks after this lodge, the standarRead mored of cleanliness is very high. Great wi-fi connection too. Hide

The property was clean and tidy, the location perfect, very quiet and peaceful. The deck was ideal for our two large dogs to relax on, and the area was very dog friendly. We would definitely book again, and recommend to family and friends.
