This idyllic stone cottage is set in the small hamlet of Caldbergh and boasts sweeping views of the Yorkshire Dales. It’s the perfect home for those wanting to explore the beautiful landscape on foot, on bicycle, or by car.
Inside, old-world charm and modern comforts create a haven of tranquillity. After a day exploring the countryside, kick-off wellies in the boot room and step through to the lounge. Wooden beams, comfortable sofas, and pleasant furnishings make the lounge a rustic and inviting spot and you can settle down with a book from the bookshelf or simply unwind with your favourite programme on the TV. There’s also a bathroom on this floor, so you can soothe sore muscles with a soak in the bath. Once you’ve relaxed, whip up dinner in the kitchen then gather everyone together in the light-drenched dining room and enjoy a sociable meal at the oak table seating six people. When bedtime beckons, head upstairs to the first floor where the three bedrooms are located. The bedrooms, featuring a mix of king-size, single, and twin zip-and-link beds are bright and cheerful with peaceful views from the windows. Outside, there’s a front and rear garden with a tidy lawn and uninterrupted countryside views. With nothing to disturb you here, you’ll soon be in a relaxed state.
The Dales offer plenty of walking and cycling trails and after a day of activity enjoy a drink and a bite-to-eat at the local pub (1 mile). For a fun, family day out head 2 miles to the Forbidden Corner and spend hours exploring the secret tunnels, passageways, and follies in this walled garden. Alternatively head 9 miles to the scenic Aysgarth waterfalls. Also worth a visit is Middleham (3 miles) with its cobbled market square, horse racing heritage, and Norman castle.
