This traditional, three-bedroom stone cottage enjoys a rural setting and lies between the villages of Bainbridge and Askrigg in the Yorkshire Dales. It’s a lovely home for a family or group of friends plus two dogs looking to explore the beautiful landscape.

Inside, a sense of tranquillity sweeps through the property with brilliant white walls, wooden beams, and stained glass windows adding charm and character to the rooms. An Inglenook fireplace and soft furnishings make the lounge an inviting spot and after a day on the Dales, you can sit and chat or contemplate the hills from the comfort of the sofa. When it’s time to eat, step through to the kitchen and rustle up a hearty meal then serve it at the sociable table with seating for six people. When the day draws to an end, head upstairs to the first floor where the three bedrooms are located. Featuring two doubles and a twin, the bedrooms are simple and comfortable and boast sublime views over the Dale. There’s also a bathroom on this floor. Outside, there’s a tranquil garden with an extensive lawn and uninterrupted views. With nothing to disturb you here, simply sit at the garden table, bask in the sun, and feel your spirits lift.

Enjoy countryside walks straight from the door with the Dales offering plenty of hiking and cycling trails. The market town of Hawes (5.5 miles) is a pretty place to visit and has a good selection of local shops, inns, and restaurants. While in Hawes be sure to visit the Wensleydale Creamery. Learn about the cheese-making process and sample the famous Wensleydale cheese too.

We really enjoyed the cottage. Bathrooms not amazing but function well enough. All bedrooms and beds very comfortable. We like to cook and the kitchen was very well equipped. Just wish the table was bit bigger to seat 6 more comfortably for family feast! Open fire was lovely! Really nice to have welcome of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. Toilet anRead mored kitchen rolls provided, as well as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and sachets for a wash in the machine. Very nice location for walks and places to visit. Hide

A lovely house in a remote location but not too far from the villages and towns. We had a comfortable holiday and enjoyed the wildlife both around the house and in the local area.

If youre looking for bright lights, try star gazing. If youre after loud music, try the dawn chorus. If you cant get by without gadgets, try enjoying the natural wonders that surround Lukes Cottage. A delightful property for all generations, and the dogs will love it too.
