Hinderwell is just a small hamlet but it’s a beautiful spot for a relaxing break away. Quiet and charming, it’s full of old stone cottages and thatched houses that characterise these types of small Yorkshire villages. Just 1.5 miles from both Staithes and Runswick Bay (in opposite directions), you’ll be well placed for visiting popular coastal hotspots. There’s a post office and a general store in the village and a bus service runs regularly to Whitby, meaning you won’t have to worry about finding a space in one of the busy car parks. Head to Whitby (9 miles) and learn all about Captain Cook, Dracula and fossil hunting.
