The local pub is just 100 metres from your front door, and wonderful walking trails accessible without needing your car. What’s more, the world-famous Yorkshire Dales National Park starts just 5 miles away, opening up ample excellent opportunities for short and day-long hikes. This rustic accommodation blends period features, such as wooden ceiling beams, with modern fixtures and fittings that ensure your stay is comfortable. In the welcoming lounge, sink into one of the sofas and switch on the TV, lighting the wood burner-effect fire for a cosy atmosphere on cold nights. The sweet country kitchen creates a pleasant atmosphere for meal prep, with its gas range cooker and colourful wall tiles adding to the charm. You’ll have two spots for eating, either in the kitchen or the separate dining room. At the rear of the property there’s a patio area furnished with a picnic bench – perfect for enjoying morning coffee as you draw up a plan for the day.

You’ll be in a rural spot with the nearest shops 2 miles away in Leyburn, which also has a Friday market for picking up local produce. Take your pet for satisfying walks in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (5 miles) or absorb the beauty of the Aysgarth Falls (8.5 miles). For an educational afternoon out, head to Bolton Castle (6 miles), Easby Abbey (8.5 miles) and Kiplin Hall (14 miles). In the mood for some outdoor pursuits? Great cottage with plenty of space. Garden area is not enclosed so can be tricky if you don't have well behaved dogs. Great location for walking etc. Kitchen is well equipped and spacious. We were three ladies and a young baby with two dogs and we had a wonderful week.

A well appointed & comfortable cottage in an idyllic village. It enjoys off-road parking & has a pleasant patio seating area, However it is beside a busy main road & suffers from the attendant traffic noise, especially in a morning. Inside, the property is a little bit gloomy.

Lovely, well equipped, comfortable cottage with off road parking. It is on the main road, with a surprisingly noisy early morning rush hour. For those with mobility issues, there are 3 or 4 steep steps up to the house, with no hand rail.

We had a lovely stay at Myrtle Cottage, while in Yorkshire for a wedding, and would definitely recommend it. The cottage is very well appointed and more spacious than it looks in the pictures. The location is great in a lovely little village and with access to local walks. It would make a really good place to stay to explore North Yorkshire.
