This luxury abode is a beautiful one-bedroomed cottage at the heart of the North York Moors National Park. An ideal spot for walks around the tranquil surrounding moorland and 11 miles from the stunning beaches of Whitby and the Cleveland coast, this cottage is truly idyllic in terms of both location and accommodation and is perfect for a romantic break away. With stone-built walls, flagstone floors, wooden beams and a wood burner, the cottage is full of charm and character.

The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner downstairs is the ultimate retreat after a long day out and about exploring. Sit on the two-seater sofa or the armchair, relax with a glass of wine next to the wood burner, plan your next day’s adventures, or just watch some TV. The kitchen is well equipped for making romantic meals which can be enjoyed at the quaint dining table next to the exposed stone wall. There is a door leading to the backyard where you’ll find an outbuilding with a washing machine, a tumble dryer and a separate freezer. The luxurious double bedroom upstairs boasts a unique freestanding bath where you can take a long relaxing soak, and there’s also an en-suite WC. Outside is an enclosed walled garden with a lovely seating area where you can take in the fresh country air. Situated on the outskirts of the popular village of Glaisdale, the cottage offers picturesque views across the Dale, both from the cottage and the garden.

The friendly village centre is only 1 mile away and boasts an award-winning butcher, a village store and a post office. The traditional pub nearby serves locally sourced homemade food. Visit Beggar’s Bridge which has a romantic origin story, or take a stroll hand-in-hand along a section of Alfred Wainwright’s epic 192-mile Coast-to-Coast Walk that passes through the village. A lovely clean, cosy and warm cottage, in a perfect location with amazing views. Such a quiet and peaceful place with great walks from the door. The owners were very welcoming and theyve thought of everything that really counts exceptionally comfortable bed, with quality sheets; plenty of towels; all the kitchen equipment you need (and sharp knivRead morees too!); lots of maps and information; and loads of dvds to watch, to name but a few things over and above those that are standard. A bottle of wine and biscuits on arrival too! Hide

The owners were very welcoming and left a lovely welcome pack including wine, biscuits and milk. There was plenty of wood for the log burner and we were told that if we ran out they would replenish, a lot of holiday cottages once you use the initial stock you have to purchase your own but this was not the case here. The location was fantastic for tRead morehe areas we wanted to visit and we had uninterrupted views of the beautiful countryside. Hide
