The kitchen is well equipped for making romantic meals which can be enjoyed at the quaint dining table next to the exposed stone wall. There is a door leading to the backyard where you’ll find an outbuilding with a washing machine, a tumble dryer and a separate freezer. The luxurious double bedroom upstairs boasts a unique freestanding bath where you can take a long relaxing soak, and there’s also an en-suite WC. Outside is an enclosed walled garden with a lovely seating area where you can take in the fresh country air. Situated on the outskirts of the popular village of Glaisdale, the cottage offers picturesque views across the Dale, both from the cottage and the garden.
The friendly village centre is only 1 mile away and boasts an award-winning butcher, a village store and a post office. The traditional pub nearby serves locally sourced homemade food. Visit Beggar’s Bridge which has a romantic origin story, or take a stroll hand-in-hand along a section of Alfred Wainwright’s epic 192-mile Coast-to-Coast Walk that passes through the village. Fly-fishing is available on the River Esk and there are lots of great visitors attractions in the area, especially in the nearby town of Whitby (11 miles).
