This beautifully decorated Grade-II listed cottage is the perfect location for a family of four and their two canine companions. Escape to this stunning part of the coast for classic seaside days out, cosy nights in and a plethora of places to dine out.

Make your way along the cobbles and up the 12 steps to this quaint seaside cottage. Enter this charming accommodation and head into the shabby chic-style kitchen/diner, which will be the backdrop for many special memories. Here, rustle up exciting meals with local produce and serve them up around the table, clinking your glasses before you dine. Retire to the cosy living room and snuggle into the sofa with a good book in front of the wood burner-effect electric fire. This is also the perfect space for film nights with the family. When the day catches up with you, choose from one of three tastefully furnished bedrooms; one king-size and one double bedroom, which both benefit from built-in wardrobes, and a bright single room used for storage/ dressing. The bathroom is also on this floor. Outside, a shared yard is ideal for grabbing a few moments of fresh air and working out your plans for the day.

Stroll a short 300 metres from your front door to the pleasant inlet of Tate Hill Beach. Huddled against Whitby town, this small, sheltered shoreline is perfect for sandcastle building and is pooch friendly all year around. Venture into Whitby town (0.5 miles) to experience excellent seafood provided in one of the many award-winning restaurants, or enjoy cake and coffee in one of the tearooms. A trip to Whitby would only be complete with visiting the town's independent boutiques and shops, where you're sure to collect a rare find to take home with you. Avid walkers can jump on the Cleveland Trail at Whitby and explore the rolling hills, dramatic clifftops and magnificent sea views, while history buffs may want to learn more about Whitby's literary history at the Dracula Experience (1 mile).

The cottage was in a fantastic location, very peaceful and in the heart of Whitby. I would recommend getting the train or bus to Whitby as parking can be very difficult. The lounge was lovely for relaxing after a day out and about and the kitchen although small had everything we needed. Upstairs the bathroom was clean however the water presRead moresure was very weak and the shower dripped constantly. Both the bedrooms we used were a good size however not much space for storage. The biggest issue was the creaking beds, this woke me up several times in the night. Overall a tad expensive for what was on offer but this is Whitby. Would rate it 3 stars. Hide

Lovely cottage, in a great location in the heart of Whitby. Cosy sitting room and well equiped kitchen. Upstairs was clean and pleasant but the beds were incredibly squeaky! And the main bedroom was small and cramped with little storage. We enjoyed our stay though.

Superb location, steps off Church Street yet quiet and secluded. Three bedrooms but fairly cosy (beds take up most of each room) but theres room for hanging clothes etc. Kitchen had plenty of equipment and the heating was really easy to use. Bathroom and kitchen both modernised with nice fittings. We did have some issues with cleanliness and the Read moreplace really needed some end-of-season attention when we had it in late December, but overall it was a pleasant cosy place to stay. Hide

This is the second year running that our party of four friends have stayed in this lovely cottage for the Whitby Goth Weekend. The location is VERY central. The cottage had everything we needed and was a home from home. When we return to Whitby in the future, we will stay here again!
