Boasting several helpful features such as wide doors and an access ramp suitable for wheelchairs, this stone-built bungalow sits within immaculately maintained, suntrap gardens. Ideal for an adult friends or family group, it offers two versatile bedrooms – one of them with an accessible en-suite and direct access to the conservatory.
Parking directly outside and ramped access to the front door means a fuss-free stay from the outset at this specially adapted holiday home. Guests are welcomed into a spacious hallway where there’s room for coats and shoes, before moving on to find a comfortable lounge that’s filled with light thanks to a big bay window and a selection of comfortable seating. There’s an electric rise-assist recliner chair, plus a Smart TV and a feature fireplace with a flame-effect electric fire. To one end, a French door leads into the conservatory, which has further seating, coffee tables and glorious garden views – a lovely place to watch the local birdlife! When thoughts turn to food, the kitchen/dining room is traditionally styled and houses all the self-catering essentials while the utility room has laundry equipment alongside space for coats and boots and a stable door onto the garden. There’s a table and chairs in the kitchen, and a second suite in the separate dining room for more formal mealtimes. Two peaceful bedrooms should assure a good night’s sleep for all. Each has zip-and-link beds which can be made up as either a king-size or twins – just tell us which you’d prefer – and its own TV. One also has a French door leading directly into the conservatory, plus an en-suite bathroom equipped with grab rails, a walk-in shower with folding seat and motion-sensor lighting. A second bathroom with a shower enhances the convenience and comfort for all guests. The large, mature gardens to the rear of the property are a plant lover’s and bird watcher’s paradise; well-tended by the owners and feature seasonal planting as well as a pretty pond. The property is connected to the owner’s home by interconnecting doors which are lockable at each side. Guests are welcome to make use of the secure storage space in the garage.
This considerately equipped holiday home sits just outside the village of Crakehall which, with a green lined by giant trees and stone-built cottages, has been described as the prettiest in the Lower Dales. The green is overlooked by the village inn and hosts an annual charity cricket match against the stars of Emmerdale. Just 2 miles away, Bedale is a traditional Yorkshire market town with elegant buildings lining a historic market square.
