Property code: OC-W010

Centrally located, this lovely newly-refurbished property is ideal for small groups or families wishing to explore the beautiful seaside town of Whitby, where guests can visit the array of shops and restaurants lining the picturesque cobbled streets. Less than half a mile away is the historic Whitby Abbey where guests can climb the famous 199 steps to enjoy sweeping views across the town and soak up the atmosphere of the place rumoured to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. For a little more immersive history, guests can take a stroll around the vibrant and bustling harbour and see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. Just under 6 miles away is the picturesque fishing village of Robins Hood’s Bay, famous for its fossil-filled beaches and tales of smugglers’ shipwrecks and pirates! This beautiful part of the world certainly has something to offer for all ages.

This well-presented and tastefully decorated Georgian property boasts stunning panoramic views across to Whitby Abbey and the headland. On the ground floor, the entrance hall leads to a small lounge and a well-equipped kitchen/diner. Here guests can enjoy a meal or a morning coffee whilst taking in the stunning views of the abbey and piers. On the first floor, guests can relax in the family lounge which again has views of the harbour and abbey. This was the perfect cottage for us, would definitely re book. Location is perfect, the road is quiet but 2 mins from shops and sea front, very spacious house with great views of the sea front

This was our third stay at Loen Cottage. It is a wonderful location with fantastic views. The cottage is very quiet yet only 2 minutes walk from town. It's very comfortable and clean and the little garden is an added bonus.

Good accommodation in a great location. This was our 2nd stay at Loen cottage and the property has benefitted from being redecorated and new carpets. It was fresh and clean and offers spacious and well equipped accommodation. It might not have the 'wow-factor' of some other properties but on price and location it's a great place to stay. The cottage was lovely and main areas of use clean enough but there were cobwebs hanging and the shower needed some TLC and overall the cottage would benefit from a top to bottom deep clean but it was good enough for us and we had a lovely relaxed stay and would definitely go back. Would be nice if there was a hairdryer(just as bulky to take with Read moreyou) but overall happy xxx Hide

Loved the view and the location. Unfortunately, it wasn't the cleanest cottage that we have stayed in. The towels and bed linen had a musty smell. Also we struggled to get the cooker, hot water and dishwasher working. Otherwise, it was fine.
