Property code: OC-W134

An idyllic coastal retreat with impressive views of the harbour and sea. This wonderfully cosy property is decorated to a high standard and suits a family of four and their contented canine.

Lap up the peace and quiet in this contemporary apartment. Unwind among the muted beach tones and bask in the classic seaside style in the ample, open-plan living space. Sink into a comfortable sofa with a glass of crisp white wine and soak up the blissful views that overlook the harbour towards the marina. The galley-style kitchen is well equipped for culinary creations, while the dining table invites you to continue the festivities well into the night, accompanied by views over the River Esk. When it's time to hit the hay, two stylishly designed bedrooms provide a good night's sleep, while a chic bathroom is available to wash off any sand from the day's adventures. Both bedrooms provide beautiful views over the water, which is perfect for escaping the morning routine with your first cuppa of the day.

Stroll a mere 350 metres from the cottage and find yourselves in the lively town of Whitby. Take in the salty sea air with days frolicking on either of Whitby’s beaches and while away the hours building sandcastles with the kids. When tummies begin to get peckish, you'll find many delightful restaurants, shops and cafes on hand to refuel for the rest of the day ahead. History buffs will be fascinated by the stories of Whitby Abbey or the Dracula Experience (less than 0.5 miles), while avid walkers may be keen to join the 109-mile-long Cleveland Way, which can be reached from the clifftops of Whitby.

This is our third visit to Alice Cottage in Whitby. We love the location, the views and the cosiness of the old cottage. It feels like a home from home to us. We were overjoyed with the 'new' super comfortable bed in the main bedroom. We can't wait to return.

Lovely autumn stay at Alice Cottage. Really comfortable beds, great heating & hot water, fab views out over the harbour, cosy, tasteful decor and lots of kitchen equipment in a small space, comfy sofa and chairs. A few drawbacks: parking bit tricky - up on the hill behind the cottage, pretty steep climb (imagine it's tough to find a space in high sRead moreummer) plus the cottage is directly above cafe/bar so pretty noisy of a Friday/Saturday evening. Other than that, a lovely place to stay. Hide

Wow what a location and what amazing views over the harbour. Although its right on pier road it was ver peaceful. Loved people watching and watching the boats come in and out of the harbour. Very pretty cottage near the beach for a couple or young family.
