A gorgeous stone cottage tucked away in a quiet yard within 100 metres of the town’s iconic quayside. Featuring a cosy lounge/kitchen/diner, well-appointed bedrooms and a small patio area, it is perfect for a young family or small group keen to explore the historical, natural and cultural attractions of the North Yorkshire Coast and North York Moors National Park.

Bright, comfortable rooms are a key feature of this cottage, with creative uses of space evident throughout. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner on the ground floor is a lovely place to relax throughout the day, with various creature comforts close at hand. The double bedroom on the first floor has ample storage for those who never like to pack light and stands across from a shower room. An open staircase leads up to the second floor, home to an airy single bedroom, the perfect choice for youngsters who want their own space.

Whitby’s quayside lies within 100 metres of the cottage, an area rich in maritime and cultural history. Whitby’s old town across the River Esk offers a unique glimpse into the area’s past, while its abbey ruins are well worth the 199-step climb from the old town. The winding streets and vast beach at Robin Hood’s Bay (7 miles) are always worth exploring, while the scenery of the North York Moors National Park (2.5 miles) is simply incredible.

Mattress so old, shower and toilet made for a child, walls showing signs of dampness, electric shower leaking black mould coming from shower head, parking was a good point but not when getting blocked in by other cars had to buy air fresheners due to smell of damp.

Unfortunately we had a late change of property due to scaffolding issues on our original booking . We had to go with what was available at the last minute although the cottage was central to Whitby we would not have chosen this as an ideal stay . There was no ideal space to sit in outside or any views the only good thing was it had a car parking spRead moreace . The property was clean and tidy but the bathroom needs a deep clean in the shower mould all around the bottom which I tried to clean off ! The mattress on the bed was so uncomfortable we did not sleep very well . It had everything that we needed in the cottage and was equipped for 3 people if needed . Hide
