Needs a thorough clean. Carpets smell. Sofas uncomfortable. Bed linen and towels good. Location good but parking was a nightmare, after driving round for a hour we had to pay 13.50 to park the car overnight. Very dark inside the cottage. Expensive for what it is. Would not stay again nor recommend.

Central location is ideal for a short break in Whitby and we enjoyed our 4 night break here. But be aware that parking may be difficult if you don't know Whitby, especially when you arrive and for unloading (a previous review suggested stopping briefly to unload in the adjacent private car park and passing luggage over the fence - not ideal but proRead morebably the best option) and if you leave the town on day trips during your stay. Unfortunately you can't rely on the availability of on-street parking using the scratch cards provided with the cottage. If you're planning to fully self cater, you might find the kitchen a little under-equipped, so come prepared. Overall though a cosy cottage, offering good value for money, and well-located for the town and all it has to offer. Hide

The cottage is very cozy, comfortable and well looked after, and the location is perfect. Its main issues are 1) accessibility, as there is no vehicle access and nowhere to park on the road (the owners helpfully provide parking discs for zone W, which only tends to have available spaces on the other side of Pannett Park, and 2) lack of a washing maRead morechine, which when booking for 1 week and going on muddy/beach walks becomes essential. Other than this, I would definitely recommend. Hide

Nice little cottage, heat was not locked off so if you need some extra heat you could have some, shower was very good. Beds where comfortable and good quality towels were provided. Also the Nespresso machine was a nice touch but could've done with some more pods. Perhaps some could be provided for free and there after a way to buy extra from perhapRead mores some kind of despenser. The shortbread biscuits and chocolate fingers where very well received. Only real difficulty was trying to unload and load the car as there was nowhere sensible to park for that period. We used the entrance to the barrier car park next door and manhandled the luggage across the carpark and passed it over the fence at the closest corner to the cottage. I would recommend and I would use again. Hide

Great location for getting into town, bus station and train station. Cosy and comfy beds, full kitchen and powerful shower. No long mirror and the seats on lounge are not that relaxing after a day's sight seeing. Quite a dark and cold cottage, even in summer as the sun doesn't shine in the cottage at all, but the heating works well. You get what yoRead moreu pay for and this cottage was cheaper than most so satisfactory for the price. For these reasons that's why I recommend it but I think we'd go for a pricier one next time for more comfort. Hide
