Gather your loved ones and escape to this spacious retreat in the village of Ruswarp. This stunning barn conversion is made up of two self-contained but connected properties, so it’s a great choice if you’re planning a group getaway where the guests are happy to spend time together yet have their own private space. Five bedrooms are spread across the two homes, sleeping up to ten guests and the living spaces are vast so you can easily get together and socialise.
A gentle ramp leads to the entrance of the main property and once inside, you’ll be amazed by the large open-plan living space, flooded with light from the glass-panelled ceiling. Make yourselves at home on the sofas in front of the TV and wood burner or pull up a chair at the huge dining table which seats up to 12 guests. The kitchen stretches the length of one wall and features everything you could need to prepare family feasts. There is also a twin bedroom on the ground floor with French doors to the garden, and a wet room. Up the stairs on the first floor is a twin bedroom, and if you cross the walkway which runs above the living space, you’ll find a king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. To reach the second half of the property, head back downstairs and through the shared lobby. On the ground floor is an inviting lounge with a TV and wood burner, and a kitchen which also features a dining table seating four. Up the stairs, there is a double and a twin bedroom, one with an en-suite bathroom, and the other an en-suite shower room. Outside, there is lots of space to soak up the sunshine, with a huge expanse of lawn and a patio for al fresco dining.
While the house enjoys a peaceful setting in the countryside, the shops and pubs of Ruswarp are only a mile away. Sitting on the banks of the River Esk, there is a myriad of walking and cycling trails to enjoy, winding through the North York Moors National Park. The Cinder Track is a popular route which runs for 21 miles from Scarborough (18 miles) to Whitby (2 miles) and takes in the impressive Ruswarp Viaduct. Families can also delight in a trip onboard the Ruswarp Miniature Railway, or drift along the river in a pleasure boat.
