Lying at the heart of the picturesque village of Grewelthorpe, this delightful holiday cottage makes a characterful and romantic retreat for couples seeking a peaceful refuge along the eastern outskirts of the breathtaking Nidderdale National Landscape. Offering cosy accommodation for up to two guests, the cheerful bolthole has plenty of original features including exposed brickwork, wooden beams, stylish tiling, and a lovely free-standing roll-top bath. Perfect for eager walkers and cyclists, this tastefully furnished cottage provides a wonderful base for exploring the rustic market towns, historic sites and beautiful woodlands of the Yorkshire Dales.

Stepping inside this sweet and cheery cottage, you will be greeted by the characterful lounge, with a Smart TV, bespoke furnishings, comfortable seating and a crackling wood burner adding to the romantic atmosphere. The ground floor also has a light and fully equipped country-style kitchen with a lovely corner dining area. Heading upstairs, you will find a light and spacious bedroom decorated in gentle shades and featuring a beautiful king-size bed, timber beams in the high vaulted ceiling and an elegant en-suite bathroom. Outside, the charming and enclosed front garden has a pretty lawn and bench seating, perfect for a relaxing morning coffee. To the rear, the back garden has a patio and outdoor seating perfect for a BBQ on a sunny afternoon.

Grewelthorpe has a long history and is perfectly situated for walkers and cyclists exploring Nidderdale and the Yorkshire Dales. Local attractions include Mowbray Castle, Kirkby Malzeard, The Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park, and Lime Tree Observatory and Planetarium, all within a couple of miles. Both Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park and the bustling market town of Ripon are to the east (both within 7 miles), with local historic sites including Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey, Druid’s Temple and Thornborough Henges, all within 10 miles.

A delightful, compact and beautifully appointed cottage in a peaceful yet convenient location. We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing five day break in Duck Cottage!

We really enjoyed our stay, a much needed break. A truly lovely cottage in quiet surroundings with friendly neighbours. We would love to come back.

We loved the cottage and the location and so did our dogs . Beautiful little village on door step of fantastic country walks and next to real lovely town Masham with not one but two Brewerys.

Loved our stay at this pretty cottage. Tastefully renovated, bathroom is lovely with a large bath and walk in shower. The bed is very comfortable and the soft furnishings & towels are really nice quality. The owners have thought of everything, the welcome basket was a nice surprise. Lovely village location with nice walks from the doorstep, great bRead morease to explore the Dales. Very good place to unwind and recharge the batteries. Hide

Cottage was spotless. Guests and doggie welcome pack a nice gesture. The location is perfect for exploring locally. Walks from village and local beauty spots, good for fitness and active dogs. Quiet location. Local pubs ten minutes drive away. Visit Jervaulx abbey, Fountains Abbey, black sheep brewery tours, Leyburn or Ripon for market town shops.
