For the budding historians of the group, Raby Castle and Egglestone Abbey are both within 10 miles, while the market towns of Barnard Castle (10 miles) and Richmond (8 miles) also boast plenty of history as well as rural charm.

Head up the drive towards the impressive grand palladium arch where the recently renovated cottage sits just behind. Park your car beside the cottage and walk up the path into this charming, stone-fronted property. Step into the welcoming country-style kitchen/diner, a peaceful and airy space that allows you to look out onto the greenery as you cook up a storm. After enjoying the chef’s work at the scenic dining table, stroll through to the cosy and sumptuous lounge where a Smart TV and soft furnishings invite quiet movie nights together.
