Surrounded by pubs and places to eat, this smartly decorated apartment also has beautiful walks and cycle trails on its doorstep. Ideal for couples, friends or families, it boasts two bathrooms, an excellent kitchen and a lounge/diner in which there’s plenty of space to relax after a day in the great outdoors.

Head up the steep external steps and across the terrace to reach the duplex apartment. The double doors of the entrance lead into the sunroom, where there’s storage and a bistro dining set, and through to the kitchen, which offers everything necessary for creating culinary delights, including a microwave and a dishwasher. After supper, head into the bright and airy lounge/diner, with its spacious table and ample seating – the perfect spot to get comfortable for the evening, perhaps streaming a favourite show on the Smart TV. There’s a pretty family bathroom on this level, and if you head up the stairs you’ll find another bathroom plus the three bedrooms. For a breath of fresh air, step out onto the terrace – perhaps with a glass of something delicious – from which you can appreciate the views over the town’s rooftops.

The compact town of Kirkby Lonsdale offers independent shops, traditional pubs, quality restaurants and quirky festivals. Surrounded by countryside, it’s set on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and just 11 miles from the eastern edge of the Lake District – a perfect base for exploring panoramic countryside and gorgeous views. The National Trust’s Sizergh house and estate is just 10.5 miles, and Windermere Lake is 23 miles. Closer to home, why not take the 0.5-mile riverside walk to Devil’s Bridge and enjoy a picnic, or explore the Charter Market, which takes place every Thursday in town?

Good location in the town. When we arrived the cleaners were struggling to get rid of a bad smell in the kitchen, previous guests had left the property in a mess. This was not the arrival we were expecting. Both bathrooms have a musty smell with the one downstairs being the worst, we just closed the door on it. Lack of a mirror in the upstairs bathRead moreroom was annoying as was the controls on the electric shower which failed to keep the water at a constant temperature. Hide

Central apartment which has everything you need. The steps to the apartment are steep so if you have a small dog they will need carrying up and down (we had a dachshund). There is a balcony and a very small courtyard so if youre expecting a garden with grass there isnt one. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Kirkby Lonsdale and surrounding area so wRead moreill definitely be coming back. Hide

What lovely flat in a beautiful location. Favourite activity was in Ingleton waterfall trail. Great market on a Thursday! We did go to Scafell Pike but it was such a long way. Windermere was wet but fun kayaking! I loved the river beach, the Vault in the Tourist Info Shop plus the Chocolate mine was fun.

Brilliant location, very clean and well equipped. There are some steep and tricky stairs leading up to the property. Unfortunately the pictures on the website make the property look better than it really is. Parking for 1 car is down a very narrow alley. There is parking close by, but that has to be paid for. All the bedrooms lead off a very steep Read morestaircase, so those with children would be advised to take a staircase. Unfortunately no highchair is provided either. There is a supermarket close Hide
