Experience a satisfying blend of county and city living while staying in this delightful barn conversion in the heart of West Yorkshire. Offering high ceilings and original beams, there’s an appealing, traditional vibe to this single-storey property that hosts four guests and is dog-friendly. It’s been updated to create a sophisticated and ever-comfortable place to stay, with bespoke fittings and modern tech ensuring any family or friendship group is satiated throughout a long or short stay. Experience nature trails, bike rides or fishing afternoons from the doorstep or take a drive into Wakefield (6 miles) or Leeds (20 miles) to find an abundance of enticing pastimes.

On arrival, take in the magnificent sense of space in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a double-height room with skylights letting daylight flood in. Quality cooking appliances create a well-appointed space for meal prep, and you can sit at the breakfast bar or dining table to enjoy the chef’s work. French doors lead out into the enclosed, grassy garden where you’ll find a unique glass dining pod and an appealing hot tub, both places to sit and admire the stars late at night. Access two bedrooms, one king-size with an en-suite shower room and one double with an en-suite bathroom, via patio doors from the garden.

Discover Anglers County Park and Wintersett Reservoir on your doorstep (both 0.5 miles) for walking, nature spotting and fishing, with a local pub just metres away to end any activity-filled day. Attractions nearby include the National Trust destination of Nostell (2.5 miles) with a historic Georgian manor house and pretty gardens, and the fabulous Yorkshire Sculpture Park (9 miles) where modern art fixtures are laid out over 500 acres of parkland. Further art can be appreciated at the Hepworth Gallery (5 miles) in Wakefield city centre.

I can only say we love this place and would recommend it to anyone. The people who own and look after it are supportive and caring. Not only great location but I have never known such a regular bus service right on the door step - brilliant.

Lovely comfortable home, very warm!! nice surroundings plenty to do in area. only downside I developed a rash returning home which has been suggested by Dr to have been due to hot tub cleanliness, I used it twice out our 3 nights, I will add though I am the only 1 from the 4 of us who has developed any rash.
