A handsome first-floor cottage on a working farm just 1.5 miles from the edge of The Peak District National Park. Surrounded by wildlife and idyllic rural landscapes, the cottage features an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, an enclosed garden and easy access to Langsett Reservoir and Midhope Reservoir. This is the perfect bolthole for active families or small groups keen to explore this area’s natural wonders and picture-book market towns.

The cottage enjoys a beautiful view of the working farm set between Langsett and Upper Midhope, an area blessed with rolling wooded hills and vast bodies of water. The homely interior is adorned with fresh colours and contemporary soft furnishings, with plenty of natural light flowing into its large, bright rooms from multiple angles. A staircase directly at the front door leads left into an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a thoughtfully arranged space featuring a striking carpeted floor, various comfortable seating overlooking the countryside through a glass Juliet balcony and plenty of work surface space. To the right of the staircase are two inviting bedrooms with soothing decor and sloping ceilings. Adjacent to these bedrooms is a smart family shower room. The enclosed garden below is a secluded space with ample seating and country views, a peaceful setting to absorb nature and meet some of the farm’s winged and hooved residents.

The Peak District National Park is bursting with footpaths and cycle trails that lead to its innumerable market towns and villages. Langsett Reservoir and Midhope Reservoir (both within 1 mile) are ideal for walkers, as is Derwent Edge (14 miles). The Hayloft is an excellent property well fitted out in a modern style. Location is very rural accessed by narrow lanes. Complemented with farm animals and superb views. Directions to the cottage would be improved by including ( turn off A616 at Strines turn off) or Wagon & Horses.

Lovely little gem of a property! Beautifully clean and fully equipped. Thoughtfully designed to take full view of the farm and animals. We loved seeing the calves, donkeys, cats, rheas and alpacas. Great location too and a pub a short distance away!

The Hayloft provided a great base for us in a lovely quiet area, it is a clean, comfortable and well-equipped property with plenty of space for preparing and cooking meals. Seeing the various animals on the farm each day was interesting and an added bonus to many holiday cottages we have had before. Thanks to the owners, a great place.

The hayloft is a wonderful place to stay, with incredible views and peace. Thr only noise was from animals, which was a delight. Relatively remote- perfect for 4 adults for a weekend. Two pubs within walking distance (about 30 and 40 mins respectively). Amazing walk around Langsett reservoir, not even dampened by the rain. An absolute gem. A wonderful hideaway on a working farm with incredible walks nearby. The Hayloft is tastefully decorated with a nice view out to the animals along the drive and to the hill beyond. Midhopestone is ideally located for getting into the Derwent Valley and the High Peak District in general, and I recommend stopping at the Strines Inn on the way back (the beer garden has an amazing view).
