Enjoy a special stay at this delightful cottage with views out over West Yorkshire. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom hideaway is 0.5 miles from Holmfirth, and 3.5 miles from the Peak District National Park. Also just 6.5 miles from the market town of Huddersfield, the cottage is ideal for those eager to be within reach of shops and eateries, as well as picturesque walks and cycle rides.

Enter the cottage to hang your coats in the welcoming kitchen/diner. Put the kettle on to brew a pot of Yorkshire tea to enjoy with a tharf cake you have bought on your latest excursion. Prepare dinner in here too and call the rest of your party to join you at the table. While away your evenings through in the beamed lounge, where you can sink back into the sofa in front of the Smart TV. Choose a book from the shelf and take in the views while you are here. As the day draws to a close, climb the cottage-style staircase up to the first floor, taking care as the ceiling is low. Up here you will find two double bedrooms, plus a twin room with zip-and-link beds that can also be made up as a king-size if discussed in advance. The family bathroom is also at this level. Carry your morning coffee out to the seating areas to the front or back of the cottage on fine days. Look out over the hills from the back garden as the sun sets on summer evenings.

Stroll into Holmfirth, made famous as the setting for long-running BBC sitcom Last of the Summer Wine. Lace up your boots and head out on hikes along the Pennine Way or bring your bicycle and explore from the saddle. Venture 5.5 miles to see the Folly Dolly Falls.

We have just come back from our holiday at Ferndale Cottage, the cottage was really well equipped with everything we could possibly need, the quality of the furnishings were excellent and the best we have ever found. The location was perfect only took about 5 mins to walk into town, we did several of the walks from the pickled pheasant which were gRead morereat and not far from our location. We had a great meal at the Old Bridge Inn and a takeaway from the chilli place in the welcome pack 10/10 we return Hide

The cottage was very clean and not overly cluttered, the kitchen was well equipped, especially thought the coffee machine was a nice touch, don't often see that and I've stayed in a lot of cottages. The welcome hamper, including bottle of Prosecco was much appreciated. It is a shame there is no proper safe enclosed garden for dogs but that won't woRead morerry everyone. My little dog took an instant dislike to the kitchen table and benches which was really funny seeing him run past them to go for walkies Hide

We chose Holmfirth as our base to explore the whole of South Yorkshire. We picked Ferndale cottage as it seemed to be perfect for our needs. Both our choices proved to be excellent. After travelling each day it was great to get back to such a clean, well equipped and comfortable house. The weather for early June was unseasonably cold but the efficiRead moreent heating system meant the cottage was nice and cosy. Hide

A lovely cottage, which has been well-thought out and well-appointed. The very nice owners Donna and Mark were extremely helpful and left us a really lovely welcome hamper. Holmfirth is a lovely place with wonderful walking within easy striking distance.

Fabulous property, lovely owners who had thought of almost everything. Lovely Xmas decs and generous hamper. Unfortunately we could not stay again as we needed an enclosed back garden , this property has shared back area not private. I spent the first half hour looking for the back door. This just needs to be made clearer in specification of properRead morety on holiday cottages. Again need for this amplified by weather so our small terriers bit petrified of the front area. Hide
