A charming and picturesque cottage situated in the heart of Middleham with lovely amenities on the doorstep. Middleham’s picturesque cobbled streets are home to old traditional pubs, local eateries, a convenience store, fish and chip takeaway, a fine dining restaurant and an abundance of walks and trails. Middleham is famous for its racehorses, the horses are a great sight as they make their way to the gallops every morning. Visit Jervaulx Abbey, Aysgarth Falls and the Forbidden Corner, a 4-acre garden with a labyrinth of tunnels, follies and other surprises all within 10 miles or sample some local cheese at the Wensleydale Creamery and the Dales Countryside Museum in Hawes (18 miles). The nearby walk onto Penhill is a must, so do remember your walking shoes. Just a few miles away is the town of Leyburn (2 miles). Here you will find typical Yorkshire shops, pubs and cafes gathered around its handsome town square, along with a market every Friday.

Step off the main street into a small porch where you can hang your coat, exchange your walking shoes for slippers and feel instantly at home as you enter the immaculate sitting room, furnished with original artwork, a snuggly sofa, and an armchair set around a fireplace with wood burner. Continue through to the dining hall and well-equipped kitchen, where you can create home-cooked meals to enjoy with your family and friends. After dinner, unwind back in the lounge and watch a film on the TV/DVD with the warmth of the wood burner keeping you toasty. At the end of the day, discover two bedrooms upstairs; a king-size room on the first floor and a twin room on the floor above complete with an en-suite shower room and WC. On the first floor, get refreshed in the bathroom that features a bath, shower and WC.

Leading out from the kitchen is a delightful courtyard with a bistro table and chairs for four. It's the perfect spot for a quiet morning coffee while listening to the birds or to soak up the sun with an ice-cold drink in hand. I would not hesitate to recommend this gorgeous cottage in Middleham that has several Choices of where to eat or have a wee drink. Loved spending time in front of the wood burner with a book in one hand and a glass of wine in the other.

Lovely comfortable cottage in a great location. Lovely and warm after a day our exploring. Nice touch with a jar of doggie treats which my Labrador did her best to work her way through! We took our own large crate and plenty of room in dining room to keep it. Cottage much larger than it looks in the pictures. A great holiday thank you

Comfortable beds, spotless bed linen. When we needed to turn the heating up it reacted very quickly and the cottage was always warm enough. Always plenty of hot water for showers etc. Close to pub, (good pub food), well stocked shop and lovely walks to enjoy the views and to watch the horses going by to the gallops. The kitchen is narrow so can onlRead morey accommodate one or two at a time. The stairs to the top floor are steep. Hide

This was a lovely well equipped cottage, very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay very much. Middleham is nicely located for days out in all directions for the dales and moors. Wonderful walks at the back of the castle that go for miles so perfect for the dogs and walkers a like. You can watch the race horses go out for their daily gallop from the Read morefront windows, with fab window seats in both bedrooms. Hide

We had a lovely week at Bow Cottage. Very comfortable and welll equipped and right in the centre of the town within 50 M of the chip shop and the best pub (Richard 3rd). Nothing to fault and highly likely we will return.

Bow Cottage is a lovely homely quaint cottage in Middleham. Great position overlooking the square, especially when the horses are going by in a morning! Close to the pubs and the cafe makes a great breakfast! Highly recommended a stay here and we will be returning again in the summer
