A charming stone property featuring an enclosed leafy lawn enveloped by the sweeping landscape of the Eden Valley. Brimming with country charm, this rural bolthole is the perfect escape for families or couples adventuring in Cumbria with their furry friend. Embark on a scenic saunter through the flower-carpeted woods of Dufton Ghyll (3.5 miles) before returning home for an al fresco supper with a striking countryside backdrop.

This airy cottage boasts a bright interior with exposed stonework, lightwood textures and spacious social areas. Unravel your outer layers in the utility room then step along the hallway into the lounge/kitchen/diner. Prepare a post-adventure nibbles board in the wooden Shaker-style kitchen while drinking in views across the undulating Eden Valley fells. Settle into the dining table chairs and raise a glass to your special occasion before tucking into a hearty feast. After dinner, venture around the corner to the elegant lounge area. Throw another log on the crackling wood burner then sink onto the plush seats to while away the evening. Rest up in the two inviting bedrooms, consisting of a spacious king and a homely twin. Completing the property is a large family bathroom. Outside, potter in the lush garden with a morning coffee, perch in the summer house with a book, or ball-throw for your four-pawed companion.

Scope out coffee nooks and browse for souvenirs in the quaint market town of Appleby (4 miles). Budding historians can enjoy a guided tour of the stately Norman Appleby Castle (4 miles) while the thrill-seekers enjoy an invigorating dip in the Shap Open Air Pool (14.5 miles).

Super spacious cottage in a lovely spot. Great views, great pub and cafe in the village. We found the living room seating a little uncomfortable, the bed was a delight and the quiet of the surroundings very pleasant indeed.

Nice quiet cottage in a lovely village location. Good smart TV for nights in, and warm cottage with everything you need. Near a farm so flies can be a problem but can be overcome.
