Nestled on the owners' working farm, this detached lodge is an idyllic setting for a peaceful family holiday. Enjoying breathtaking views over the Calder Valley, made famous by 'Happy Valley' and 'Gentleman Jack'. With a range of beautiful walks from the doorstep and the Pennine Way within easy reach, there is a range of tracks and trails to suit walkers and cyclists of all abilities. There is a delightful country pub close by and the pretty village of Ripponden is only 2 miles away, where you will find a selection of independent shops, bars and cafes. Visit the wonderfully quirky market town of Hebden Bridge (6.5 miles) or spend the day exploring the popular village of Holmfirth (16 miles), home to the Last of the Summer Wine exhibition and its very own vineyard. A fantastically central location, both the Yorkshire Dales and Peak District National Parks can be reached within 26 miles.

Step through the door into this delightful single-storey holiday property and feel instantly welcomed into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Lovely furnished throughout, relax around the dining table and enjoy spectacular views over the West Yorkshire countryside. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need to rustle up a home-cooked meal and the lounge boasts a Smart TV so you can settle down and watch a movie with your family in the evening. There is also a sofa bed here to sleep an additional two children. Take a look through one of the leaflets in the utility/boot room and plan what to do with the rest of your stay. Moving along the corridor, you will find two comfortable bedrooms, one king-size and one twin, both with Smart TVs and a large family bathroom.

At the front of the property is an enclosed patio area with furniture and a BBQ so that you can enjoy dining alfresco in the summer sun. There is also a large lawned garden with plenty of space for children to play and a picnic bench so that you can enjoy lazy lunches whilst taking in the beautiful countryside that surrounds you.

Is there anything else that could offer as much peace and relaxation anywhere! The views were stunning, the location excellent for walking and visiting local attractions, plus the most generous and friendly hosts. The accomodation was very well equipped with everything included for a stress free stay.

An amazing stay at Thornton holiday park. Anne and Ian are lovely people who have put a lot of care and love into their farm and the holiday cottage. It was a very warm and welcoming home for the week with special, thoughtful extras from everything you need in the kitchen and bathroom to lovely wine and biscuits on arrival plus dog essentials in caRead morese we forgot anything. It has amazing views of the stunning farm and countryside. Loved the farm tour and we'll definitely return next spring Hide
