This large and luxurious property offers a contemporary countryside stay for up to eight guests on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Entertain your guests with a garden party while soaking up the views of the surrounding agricultural land or in the sleek open-plan living space with a wood burner, wide picture windows and plenty of floor space for dancing. Enjoy a break in this historic village with a seasonal open-air pool or venture further afield into the Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales.
From the moment you step inside, you’ll be won over by the bright interiors and sophisticated minimalist design of the property. On the open-plan ground floor are two lounge areas – one in a sunny corner with triple-aspect views and yellow sofas, and the other with a cosier feel, featuring leather sofas and a wood burner. Move across the multi-toned wooden floor into a formal dining area with a rustic feel from the wooden and metal textures. At the far end of this space is an elegant grey and white kitchen with marble-effect worktops, low-hanging ambient ceiling lights and a breakfast bar on the kitchen island. Upstairs is a family bathroom with a free-standing bath, and four spacious bedrooms – a twin and three king-size, one of which has an en-suite. Outside, you’ll find a large, enclosed garden with a lawn and paved areas with furniture.
During your stay on the outskirts of Shap, you’ll have a historic abbey, outdoor activity companies, eateries and an open-air swimming pool on your doorstep (all within 2.5 miles). Head into the Lake District for a stroll around Ullswater (12.5 miles) or to the Great Asby Scar National Nature Reserve (9.5 miles) in the Yorkshire Dales.
