There are a number of scenic walks and cycle trails straight from the doorstep and railway enthusiasts will love riding on the Keighley & Worth Valley steam train running from the village, a location from the 1970's film, The Railway Children. Step through the front door of this beautiful bolthole and into a small entrance hall, perfect for muddy boots and paws. To the left is the lounge where you can settle in for a snug evening and watch a film on the TV in front of the roaring wood burner. An open doorway leads through to the kitchen/dining area, fully equipped for cooking a lazy breakfast in bed, or a scrumptious supper. When it is time to retire for the evening, head upstairs into the wonderful double bedroom. Boasting a magnificent four-poster bed, it is sure to make for an excellent night's sleep. Here you will also find a handy dressing room, the bathroom and a reading room with views over the garden and countryside beyond, perfect for bird watching. On the lower-ground floor is a utility and boot room where you can store bicycles or any outdoor equipment.

Lovely welcome pack and tidy clean cottage but located on a busy road. The very small, very shaded court yard garden is accessed via steep cellar steps or from the front door and around the side....disappointing for a summer stay

We had a wonderful week in Merdale Cottage. Oxenhope is a gorgeous village, the Co-op well stocked, the pubs welcoming. The Sunday lunch at The Lamb was very generous and totally delicious and the pizzas (Thursday night) the best I have ever tasted. The dog loved the walk up by the reservoir (just up the hill) and Penistone Hill Country Park (off lRead moreead, moors and rabbits...). We had a lovely welcome (plus dog) in the Parish Church and loved coming 'home' to the cottage each day. Thank you. Hide

Well equipped , charming cottage set in beautiful scenery . Easily walkable to the village . However , it is on a busy road and the traffic noise is significant, especially early in the morning . Access to the garden- which is nicely landscaped - was not ideal - either via steep stone stairs through the basement or through the side access going outRead more of the front garden into the road and across the parking space . This is a lovely house. It is very spacious and it was great to have a dressing room. The reading room is an extra bonus with binoculars provided by the host so you can enjoy the views. We spotted a deer and it was fun to look down on the birds! It is comfortable, warm and has everything you need. Thank you

End of terrace house on a narrow road, busy during rush hours. Not noisy but difficult to negotiate with a lively dog. There was a strange smell on entering the property (damp?). The garden is accessed via steep cellar steps. Nice welcome pack. Well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. Comfy bed, inviting sitting room. We had constant drizzle but there aRead morere some nice walks nearby, and the bus service to Haworth/Hebden Bridge is reliable. Railway station and Co-op easy to walk to. Hide
