For an active but not too challenging day out, travel to Great Asby Scar (8 miles) and you can climb to the summit, just 412 metres above sea level, and take in the panoramic views of this truly stunning area. Visit Haweswater (23 miles) for a romantic stroll beside the tranquil waterway and keep your eyes peeled for the rare local wildlife inhabiting the area.
