Get the whole gang together at this stylish home just 2.5 miles from the bustling market town of Appleby. Sleeping six people across three bedrooms, this is an ideal holiday home for families or groups of friends in search of a tranquil retreat to call home while they discover the stunning landscapes of Cumbria together. During the day, browse the fresh produce on offer at the local farm shop – it’s an absolute haven for foodies – before taking your purchases home so you can enjoy a wonderful, al fresco feast in the pretty garden.

When you reach this delightful cottage, you'll be greeted by a charming stone archway leading to a covered porch that sets the tone for the elegance within. Step inside and you’ll find an inviting hallway graced with attractive wood flooring and handy storage space for your outdoor gear. Take a moment to relax in the cosy lounge – a welcoming space with traditional exposed beams and a crackling wood burner. When it’s time to eat, cook up some dinner in the open-plan, farmhouse-style kitchen/dining area and gather everyone to eat at the elegant dining table. Alternatively, head out into the landscaped garden and dine alfresco on the patio. Afterwards, head back to the lounge and warm your toes by the glowing wood burner. At the end of the day, there are three wonderful bedrooms waiting for you upstairs. The master king-size boasts original beams and an en-suite shower room, while two double bedrooms boast plenty of rustic charm and are served by the well-appointed family bathroom.

Grab your hiking boots and discover Rutter Falls (5.5 miles). Walk along the scenic footpaths to reach this gorgeous waterfall surrounded by lush woodlands. Alternatively, wander through the enchanting gardens at Lowther Castle and Gardens (10.5 miles). Explore the imposing castle ruins and let your kids go wild in the adventure playground.

Perfect for our family get together. Plenty of room for six adults and 2 dogs in this beautiful barn conversion. Ideal for exploring Eden valley or Lake District.
