This lovingly decorated cottage offers a wonderful family escape to the country, set in a great location for walkers, cyclists and those who truly appreciate nature.

Immerse yourself in a quintessential countryside retreat with idyllic panoramic views and gorgeous, cosy interiors. With space for five guests and easy access to the Eden Valley and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this is the perfect accommodation for those seeking relaxation and walking routes amongst stunning surroundings.

Wipe down your muddy walking boots and step into this cute-as-a-button property, where you'll be met with exposed beams, a flickering open fire, and cosy sofas in the lounge – perfect for nights in front of the TV. Use the Aga and fully equipped cupboards to create memorable meals in the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner for the group. At the rear of the cottage, drink in the panoramic countryside views whilst you tuck into your dinner, or grab a blanket and watch the stars slowly appear above. Climb the stairs to the first floor, and you will find two beautifully appointed bedrooms with natural colour tones and breathtaking views over the Yorkshire Dales. On the second floor, discover a king-size bedroom with stacks of space, an exposed brick wall and a TV/Wii console for keeping the kids entertained on rainy days. In the morning, grab your walking attire from the tumble dryer in the handy utility room and begin your day of leisurely strolls.

With an abundance of incredible walking paths right at your doorstep, such as Pennine Way, Wild Boar Fell, and High Seat, you'll be hitting the ground walking as soon as you arrive! Pendragon Castle (0.2 miles) presents a wonderful afternoon trip steeped in mystery and legend for the history buffs in the group. Foodies are well served, too, with a visit to the ancient market town of Kirkby Stephen, 4 miles away. Shop for Yorkshire Parkin and curd tart to devour at home, or stop by the bars or eateries for a quick bite to eat.

Beautiful, well equipped cottage in a superb location. Lovely long walks from the doorstep or short drive away. We took our teenager and springer. Both very happy too despite rainy weather. King size bed was incredibly comfortable- best weeks sleep for a long time.

We were very happy to stay in this cozy cottage, which is situated in a very quiet area (shops are about ten minutes drive, EV drivers might need to do some planning ahead of time). It's a perfect location for local walks or trips further afield. It was very comfortable, clean and well appointed, and we loved the view out back & chatting with the fRead moreriendly neighbours. This cottage was simply perfect! Such a beautiful location.. such a lovely home to stay in. Lovely town close by, stil in the middle of incredible nature. Many things to do, Lake District nearby. Museums, castles, a lovely ruin just 500 mrt away.. Pendragon with King Arthur history. We had a little plumbing problem. We really enjoyed our stay, the cottage is a great base for some fantastic walks in wensleydale and swaledale, and is a comfortable, well equipped home to return to. Would happily recommend and return ourselves.

Again, please see above. These are really annoying and such a shame as the cottage is lovely and we had a great time but I would not stay there in the winter if these issues are not sorted. I would recommended but please can these issues be fixed as it really detracts from the over all enjoyment.

We had a wonderful stay at Castle Cottages. The house is stunning and the Aga made the kitchen and downstairs so cosy and warm. Bathroom is huge and the shower is powerful. The bedrooms are all very comfy too but you can hear ever foot fall upstairs (which is fine as I can sleep through anything myself). The views are stunning and we worked out quiRead moreckly where we could walk our pooch off lead (NO where near any sheep). The cottage is in a great location for getting around NE England. Hide

Beautiful and peaceful location, lots of walks from the door. Apart from a trip to walk on the nearby Howgills we just parked the car and set out on foot everywhere. A lovely quiet spot for relaxing and getting away from the crowds. The cottage was very comfy and cosy and felt very homely. We loved the porch black of night, the owls calling and the views from the front and rear of the cottage.

Well worth the money. Very comfortable and in a good location for several walks whether on the doorstep or travelling out a bit further in the car. Only downside is a lack of a confined outside space but aside from that this was great value.

What a wonderful cosy cottage. It worked really well for us as a family of four. There was enough space to both be together but also to have the space apart! The cottage is very homely and well organised but also feels fresh and high quality. Hotel style bedding etc. We cook in a lot (nut allergy in the family) so it was really lovely to be in a beRead moreautiful and well equipped kitchen with a good oven etc. Views are beautiful from the cottage and the patio is a lovely space to sit. Lovely cottage, nicely decorated, very clean and fresh and very well equipped. Lovely views at the back too and walking pretty much from the doorstep. Only negative is that there is only one bathroom and no extra loo. This causes a bit of a problem if youre with friends like we were at certain pinch points of the day!
