Lying tucked away in the sleepy village of Bagby surrounded by open countryside. Out the back gate of the cottage, there's a bridleway to lead you on a beautiful walk and a pub less than a mile away. Monk Park is 1.5 miles away where you can visit and feed all the friendly animals. The market town of Thirsk, 2 miles away, includes The World of James Herriot visitor attraction and makes for a great day out. Thirsk racecourse holds regular events and a nearby golf club is bound to entice any putting fans. Also nearby is popular Monk Park Farm attraction, which has been awarded runner up in a Small Farm Attraction of the year, with plenty of animals and entertainment for all. Centrally located for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors or even a trip to the Yorkshire Coast. Within 25 miles is the historic walled city of York with its magnificent gothic Minster, Railway Museum, and the famous tea rooms for afternoon tea.

Take the steps into the property and you will discover the boot room just ahead, a handy location for wet coats, and muddy boots, with a washing machine, freezer and you will also find a handy downstairs WC. The spacious kitchen diner is the hub of this home from home with a dining table at its heart and complete with an Aga (winter months use only). Create a home-cooked meal in the generously equipped kitchen also with an electric hob and oven, fridge, dishwasher and microwave and gather around the table with your group for your feast. The kitchen features a comfy sofa where you can relax while the cook of the group rustles up your meal. After dinner, make your way through to the cosy lounge, light the wood burner (first basket of logs included) and get warmed up by the heat of the fire, pick a film to watch on the Smart TV or stream some background music. Upstairs, are three lovely bedrooms, all with views of the beautifully kept garden outside, there is a king-size, double and twin room all serviced by a shower room and WC and bathroom with bath/shower over and WC.

Outside, is a pretty garden with a large lawn and well-stocked borders, the garden is great for your four-legged friend and children and is completely dog-proofed. there is a gas BBQ for warmer days. There is ample off-road parking.

Fox Cottage is a great property - clean and homely! Carole, the owner, left a lovely welcome basket for us, which included breakfast things, wine & even Easter goodies! She was super responsive to all our queries. The cottage is tastefully decorated & very well-equipped. We didn't have to purchase any cleaning products, as everything & more was proRead morevided. The cottage was lovely & very well equipped including an Aga. We were very grateful for all the provisions, Christmas decorations and treats left for us by Carole and Ollie & we appreciated how they checked everything was ok. Fox cottage is very clean, light and bright, and well equipped.. The sofas and beds were comfortable, the kitchen large and cheerful and the garden lovely.We especially liked the fox theme throughout. The owner had anticipated every possible requirement and fulfilled it, such as making a lovely cake for our arrival. We hope to return.

We had a lovely stay at Fox Cottage . The house and garden are both beautiful. Everything we needed was provided . The location was good as it was close to main roads to get out and about but was also very quiet. The welcome pack was the best we've had. I am sure we will be rebooking in the future

We absolutely loved our stay here. The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed. The owners were perfect hosts, always available via text and extremely helpful. We were five adults and a baby and the cottage catered for all our needs, being spotlessly clean with comfy beds. Everything was provided, including a most generous welcome pack. The garden was delightful and the views were lovely, with hares playing in the fields. Contact with the very helpful owner was easy. Fox Cottage is an amazing well equipped cottage with a beautiful well kept enclosed garden for the dog, wonderful views and walks on your doorstep. Had 14 days here the 2nd half of April with so many attractions and places to visit. We visited a good pub The Greyhound a few times to eat and was made very welcome by the owners and the locals. Fox Cottage is a wonderful find. It's down a quiet country lane and feels quite rural even though it's just off the A19. The space, decor and facilities are all excellent and we all thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas break - adults and dogs alike!

The property is in a lovely rural position, it is spacious & spotlessly clean, it has a good sized garden & walks direct from the door. The owner provides an amazing welcome pack her attention to detail & communication is very good. There is an excellent pub The Greyhound in the village & places to visit are within easy distances.
