A perfect rural retreat for a couple, small family, keen walkers, and cyclists. Just 5 miles from Pateley Bridge in the village of Ramsgill.

The North Yorkshire village of Ramsgill is set in breathtaking Nidderdale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage is also perfect for exploring the Dales, with Brimham Rocks (9 miles), Stump Cross Caverns (9 miles), and Pateley Bridge (5 miles) all nearby. No trip to this area would be complete without a day out in the spa town of Harrogate (20 miles) – this elegant town is bursting at the seams with antique shops, cafés, independent boutiques, restaurants and, of course, the famous tea rooms. There are no limits to the number of cycling trails and walking routes you can explore, or visit the nearby Gouthwaite Reservoir for some spectacular waterside views. Yorkshire is renowned for its annual cycling event, the Tour de Yorkshire, and welcomes many cyclists to the area.

This charming, semi-detached, stone-built cottage sits back in a peaceful location and offers everything you need for a relaxing stay. The cosy living room, with a traditional beamed ceiling, open fire, and a comfortable sofa with warm throws, invites you to grab a good book, curl up and relax. There’s a Smart TV with an Amazon Firestick, as well as games and books to keep you entertained. The kitchen has stylish shaker-style units and oak worktops, and is fully equipped with an electric hob and oven, a slim dishwasher, and a fridge. The cupboards are stocked with all the equipment you’ll need during your stay. Gather at the table to enjoy your home-cooked meal, enjoying the pretty view out to the cottage garden and its local birdlife that frequent the feeders. Return from your walk via the rear entrance which lets you into a handy utility room – perfect if you are a bit wet or muddy! Hang your coats to dry and wash any of your clothes in the washing machine. You will also discover a freezer and a downstairs WC. When it's time to turn in, head upstairs to bed; there are three attractively dressed bedrooms – a double and two single bedrooms. Start your morning refreshed by having a nice hot shower in the shower room with a WC.

The cottage is gifted with two wonderful outdoor spaces for you to either enjoy your morning brew or an evening glass of wine. The front garden is busy with local birds and has a well-positioned bench where you can sit quietly and take in this tranquil spot. Or, dine alfresco while admiring the hills and moor from your enclosed private patio at the back of the cottage. There is off-street parking (subject to availability).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was delightful and well equipped. The owners provided lots of information on walks in the area. Nidderdale is beautiful, we loved exploring the area and the stunning views. We would definitely visit again.

A lovely, cosy cottage with lots of space for socialising and privacy. Quiet and scenic location with walking from the door . Cottage warm to come back to after a soggy walk and good utility area for unwrapping from wet kit. Well equipped kitchen and nice living room with wood fire.

This is a lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful location. The owner is quite obviously a nature lover as demonstrated by the style of interior decor.. Very generous to supply logs and coal for fire. Certainly somewhere we would consider returning to. Thank You.

Great for walks and mtb rides. Waterfalls in the national park were in full flow so much of the attraction is weather dependent.

Our stay at The Nook was lovely and chilled. It was a quiet area with lots of scenic dog walks and easy access to local facilities such as the pub at Wath and the shops in Pateley Bridge. The cottage itself was small from the outside but had plenty of space internally for us to take advantage of the comfy beds, cosy lounge and roaring fire.

An attractive and well-equipped country cottage with immediate access to pleasant walks, and longer distance access (by car) to the Dales tourist spots.

Great location and lovely cottage. Great to have annotated walking books and guides. Lovely to have a book of garden birds and plenty of bird food to replenish the feeders. Shame that the Yorke Arms is no longer a pub. However, there is a pub in both Middlesmoor and Lofthouse. We didnt go to either but we thought it would be nice for future guests Read moreto know.
