The inviting lounge is a lovely place to relax after a day of exploring, with plush sofas to sink into, a wood burner-effect electric fire, and a TV/DVD for enjoying movie nights together. From here, move through to the large, country-style kitchen/diner, where you’ll find everything you need for a self-catering holiday and a dining table to seat everyone. Appleby is an ancient market town, with pretty streets and historic buildings to explore. The town has a great range of independent shops selling local goods and produce, as well as a fantastic array of pubs and restaurants. From the town, enjoy picturesque strolls along the banks of the River Eden. Further afield, spend a day amongst the breathtaking landscape of the Lake District National Park, riding on the iconic Ullswater steamers or taking on the dizzying heights of Blencathra or Helvellyn (all within 30 miles).
