Tucked away on the edge of the Pennines, on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border, this contemporary property provides the ideal getaway for families and their dogs.

The cottage is conveniently situated in the town of Littleborough, with all the amenities you could require within easy reach. Just across the road you will find a pub, restaurant and fish and chip shop or wander to the centre of the town where there are plenty more cafes, pubs and eateries to explore. Situated on the Pennine Way, the area is a paradise for walkers and cyclists with the canal just around the corner, and Hollingworth lake a lovely 2-mile walk away where visitors can take in the stunning scenery, enjoy a picnic or take part in a range of water sports. A bus stop at the front of the property offers transport directly to the nearby towns of Todmorden (6 miles) and Hebden Bridge (10 miles), both offering an abundance of quirky shops and pubs, and further on to Manchester (18.5 miles). Pop on the train to Manchester 20 mins away or go to Liverpool, experience the Eurovison atmosphere a mere 60 minutes by train where you can relax and take the sights in.

Three steps lead into this wonderful cottage where you are greeted by a welcoming lounge/diner. Stylishly furnished throughout, relax on the comfortable sofas after a long day exploring and watch a movie on the TV with loved ones. A large wood burner adorns the room providing ample warmth for those cold winter nights. In the corner of the room, you will find a contemporary dining table, lovingly handmade from recycled wood from the lock gates of the neighbouring canal. This is a theme throughout the property and makes for plenty of unique fixtures and fittings. The kitchen is stylish and equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, filtered water tap, and a giant chalkboard to entertain any children in the group. Moving downstairs to the lower ground floor, you will find a utility room with a washing machine. There is also a spacious double bedroom with an en-suite shower room and WC. Heading up to the first floor is the second bedroom, a king-size, with wonderful views over the Pennines in the distance. The landing space has a desk and reading area which provides the perfect spot for any workaholics in the group. Completing this floor is the shower room with WC.

Outside is a large, enclosed garden with a patio area and garden furniture. It is the ideal spot to soak up the sun in the summer and enjoy a BBQ. There is also a doggy-wash station for muddy paws and boots, and ample off-road parking.

Everything was just perfect, from the accurately described accommodation, the comfort and warmth of the cottage to the lovely welcome pack of essentials plus a couple of tasty extras! It was a first time away for our dog and he clearly felt very much at home and very settled due to the doggy facilities. We are hoping to stay again.

The cottage was renovated to a very high standard. There was plenty of equipment to use in the kitchen. A lovely welcome pack on arrival, which was very much appreciated. Although car park facilities were available at the rear of the cottage the surface was just a dirt track, which you need a towel to clean the dogs paws with to keep the floors cleRead morean.Apart from this it is excellent. I can't fault the place at all; the location was perfect with lovely views from upstairs and it was also ideal for getting in and out of Manchester on the train. It was spotless and had everything we needed for a nice relaxing time when we weren't exploring.

Carpark could be improved. Access was not always easy to house. House was immaculate. Stairs were very steep so older people should be made aware of this. Owner was very helpful.
