This charming two-bedroom apartment makes the perfect retreat for a couple, friends or family in the pretty village of Great Ayton, where there are pubs, cafes, and eateries to enjoy. The apartment is the ideal base for exploring nearby villages, interesting sites, and the Yorkshire coast. It has two flexible bedrooms, a contemporary shower room, and an inviting open-plan living area.

The apartment is light and airy with contemporary styling and a homely feel in every room. Go upstairs and inside the hall to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a welcoming space with comfy sofas, a Smart TV, and a wooden floor. The kitchen area has everything you need to cook up tasty meals to enjoy at the dining table and chairs in the window. Head through to bed in the two attractive bedrooms: one king-size zip-and-link and one super-king-size zip-and-link, both of which have good storage. There’s also a stylish shower room for everyone to use. There’s no private outside space attached to the apartment, but the property is close to two pretty village greens and the River Leven, a popular picnic spot in summer.

Great Ayton is a bustling village with a range of pubs, coffee shops, restaurants, takeaways, and a supermarket. Stokesley village, too, is worth visiting with its cobbled streets, boutique shops, tearooms, pubs, and restaurants (2.5 miles). Walk up iconic Roseberry Topping, a 330-metre hill just north of the village for spectacular views (2 miles). For more hikes, head to the North York Moors, just 1 mile away. Explore the coastal villages of Staithes (21 miles), Runswick Bay (21.5 miles), Saltburn-by-the-Sea (10.5 miles) and Sandsend (23 miles), and explore the ruins of Rievaulx Abbey (20 miles).

Clean light and airy apartment. Lovely window area for watching walkers,riders, comfortable leather sofas,big TV with plenty of programmes. Well equipped kitchen. Super king bed. Plenty of storage. Great location on edge of village with a post office,chemist, and some shops for groceries . Great pie shop .

Butterfly cottage is very nice light and airy apartment in a quiet part of the village close to the centre and its amenities. Not too far from the farm shop and cafe at Little Aton either. We found it to be very clean and well equipped and a good location for exploring the area and for walking from. We had a very enjoyable week staying in this aparRead moretment and would have no hesitation booking it again in the future. Hide

Lovely Apartment in a great Location. Great Ayton has all you need for a great holiday, with a few decent pubs, coffee shops, restaurants/take aways and a supermarket. Butterfly Cottage is within easy walking distance of all the these amenities. Lovely modern, clean, comfortable apartment in a village situation. Well equipped, with a good sized TV, and a big bay window from which to watch the passing walkers and horse riders. 3 minutes walk round the corner to the village green for the Post office, pub, Co-op and tasty pie shop. A lovely serene apartment in a great setting.

Great Ayton is a delightful place to stay and the cottage is centrally located so handy for all village facilities. Well equipped cottage which was perfect for a long weekend.

We had a wonderful week in this well equipped, really nicely furnished, comfortable and super clean cottage in the delightful village of Great Ayton. We hadnt expected such a range of little shops, pubs and coffee shops, and little cafs, not to mention a very useful Co-Op that sold everything, in such a pretty place. Steep stairs but otherwise perfect. Historic house which has been beautifully refurbished with view of majestic trees in a peaceful Quaker graveyard. Easy walk to shops and pub.
