Take a break to the Yorkshire Dales at this dog-friendly cottage which is bursting with charm and ideally suited to couples. From the exposed beams and bricks to the thoughtful decor, this property has a cosy home-from-home feel from the moment you step through the door. Located in the town of Skipton, there is plenty to see and do right on your doorsteps, including blissful boat trips along the canal for a romantic afternoon out.

Greeting you upon arrival is the living room with a large leather sofa and an armchair where you can sprawl out and relax. Retaining many of its original features, the room is full of character and country style. Adjoining the room is the traditionally styled kitchen with a dining table for morning coffees and evening meals. Between the two areas is the wooden staircase leading up to the two tastefully styled bedrooms which enjoy neutral decor. Bedroom one features a comfortable double bed, alongside a TV where you can retreat to at the end of each day to recuperate, whilst the second room has a single bed, ideal for a child. Completing the floor is the family shower room.

Whilst Skipton itself has plenty to entertain, from historic tours of the castle to an array of excellent leisure facilities, adventure awaits in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, just a mile away from the town. Pack a picnic and head off to explore Malham Cove (22 miles), an unusual geological formation with an awe-inspiring waterfall. Or spend a day in the spa town of Harrogate exploring the wonderful array of eateries, architecture and historic hotspots.

Our cottage was in a perfect location. With having the shops close by and the river opposite. And perfect location for walking the pups. Loved it!

Lovely cottage in a brilliant location, close to shops, pubs and all amenities. The canal tour for 1 hour is highly recommended, the recorded commentary was very funny. Favourite pub was the Boat House, but all that we visited were good, pub food was excellent everywhere, and all appeared dog friendly. The Railway came with good reviews, we were unRead moreable to confirm as no tables available so pre booking a must. Hide

Lovely cottage, the location was excellent however noisy from 6.30am on market days when they are setting their stalls up. Beds weren't the comfiest but shower was good and overall great place to stay.

Excellent location, close to town and canal but very quiet. Cottage was perfect for our week away exploring the Dales. Spotlessly clean and had everything that we needed, including a washer/dryer!

It's a comfortable centrally located cottage with parking space and within easy walking distance of many shops, pubs and restaurants and Skipton Castle. There's a nice little cinema a few minutes' walk away and the railway station is walkable too.
