Perfect for a pet- and coast-loving couple, this end-terrace cottage is just half a mile from the vast sandy beach that stretches from the mouth of the River Tees to Saltburn. With a dreamy double bedroom and open-plan living space, it’s the perfect base for coast path walks and adventures in the North York Moors National Park. Mid-way between Redcar and Saltburn, the village of Marske-by-the-Sea has a long high street dotted with local stores, inns and eateries.

Beside a quiet lane close by, this bijou holiday abode is ideal for a couple and their canine companion, with an open-plan living space that prioritises laid-back time together. Within this room, you’ll find a lounge area where you can snuggle on the sofa – the Smart TV comes with Sky packages to complete your cosy night in. There’s space to enjoy a romantic meal for two – choose from one of the many local takeaways if you want a complete break, or cook up a feast in the contemporary kitchen area, equipped with all the must-haves of home. When it’s time to sleep, head upstairs where a bathroom and double bedroom await. Outside, there's space to clean the sandy paws, plus a garage for bike storage; stretch your legs with a half-mile stroll along the high street to the beach – it’s dog friendly!

Marske is 2 miles from both Redcar and Saltburn-by-the-Sea, its beach part of an 8-mile stretch of golden sands that reach from the latter to the mouth of the River Tees. Walk along the shoreline to Saltburn for an authentic Victorian seaside experience – don’t miss the water-balanced cliff lift and the last remaining pier in Yorkshire. The Cleveland Way passes through here on its way from Helmsley in the North York Moors National Park to Filey, further down the coast. Closer to home, Staithes (12 miles) clings to the hillside and is a coastal village full of character, with winding cobbled streets and charming 18th–century cottages.
