This two-bedroom detached cottage set on the outskirts of Kirkby Malzeard is the ideal getaway for a small family plus two dogs seeking privacy, tranquillity, and comfort. Surrounded by farmland and countryside, the property offers the perfect base from which to embark on long Yorkshire walks before returning for a movie night in the sumptuous lounge that awaits.

After a day exploring the Dales, leave muddy boots and coats in the utility room and step through to the open-plan kitchen and dining room. In the well-appointed kitchen, prepare a meal together and then dine at the table in front of the glass doors. When the weather is good, you’ll want to push open the doors and let the fresh countryside air in. Off from the dining area, you’ll find a cheerful twin bedroom featuring creamy tones and pleasant furnishings. There’s also a well-equipped bathroom on this floor. From the ground floor, stairs sweep up to the first floor where the lounge is located. Drenched in natural light, it has a pleasant sense of tranquillity, and you can unwind on the sofa with your favourite programme on the Smart TV or enjoy a family board game. Completing this floor and the interior is the master bedroom, a delightful king-size room with neat furnishings and scenic views. Outside there’s a private space and more uninterrupted countryside views. While you enjoy breakfast at the outdoor table, Fido can safely roam around the fenced area.

Enjoy countryside walks straight from the door or stroll to the village and linger over a meal at the dog-friendly pub. The small market town of Pateley Bridge is 6.5 miles away and has plenty of tearooms, shops and restaurants. While in Pateley Bridge, be sure to explore Brimham Rocks or jump on the Nidderdale Way route to soak up the stunning scenery.

We had a great stay at Low Ray with our two young sons. The place is in a lovely relaxing setting, and had all the facilities we needed. In fact our kids had a blast! The owners were extremely helpful and responsive, and the location is ideally placed to explore the lovely Yorkshire countryside.

Lovely, comfortable cottage in a fantastic, quiet location. Stunning views from the kitchen and master bedroom. The Velux windows in the lounge are too high up to offer the same views but they do bring lots of light in the property. We loved waking up to birdsong and the occasional bleating of lambs and their mothers and we were very grateful for tRead morehe absence of human noise. We stayed for 2 weeks and loved every minute of it. Hide
