On the banks of the River Ouse, this bolthole cottage for two encourages walking and bike riding excursions amongst the splendid scenery of the East Riding of Yorkshire. Backed by the Yorkshire Wolds and just a driving distance from York (25 miles) and Hull (31 miles), you’ve got a variety of local appeals to choose from when planning daily activities throughout your stay. The cottage itself is well-presented with everything you might need for a comfortable retreat, complete with a pretty garden for wildlife spotting or gazing up at starry night skies with a morning coffee or late-night drink.

This dynamic property is all laid out on one level, complete with an open-plan living space that gently flows into the super-king-size bedroom. The bedroom offers a zip-and-link bed to add versatility and ensure guests always have a comfortable place to sleep. The lounge/kitchen/diner is spacious and well-equipped, complete with ample comfy seating and a wood burner to keep things cosy and warm. A scenic walk along the river leads to Howden (4.5 miles), an old market town with cobbled streets, Georgian architecture and a fine Minster. For rural exploration, visit the Yorkshire Wolds, a sweeping section of the East Yorkshire countryside with flowing hills and verdant fields. Excellent cottage in a lovely location. Good that you can bring your dog as there are some very nice walks of varying distance from the cottage. Saltmarsh hall a very short walk which is good for a scenic walk drinks / food. The cottage has all the equipment you need for a comfortable holiday.

This was a really nice cottage, comfortable and in a very peaceful location, and although we didn't have it on it had a wood burner which is always a positive.

I have stayed several times at Yew Tree Cottage. The cottage is comfortable and warm with everything needed for the stay. The surroundings ie the parkland and riverside are lovely for dog walking. I found the area very peaceful and beautiful in the different seasons with the large old trees and animals grazing and the river views. This cottage was very clean and comfortable. Location is remote but all amenities are close and access to major trunk roads is easy. Large amount of places to visit.

Lovely cottage beside the River Ouse. Warm, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Dog owners - bring covers as your dog IS allowed on the furniture (thats rare in dog friendly places!). Cottage was lovely. Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a secluded getaway. Really quiet but not too far away from shops if needed supplies. Dog really enjoyed the walks and there is a lovely area around ponds and an old railway track at Eastrington ponds nature reserve.

Yew Tree Cottage is in a very quiet and secluded location, perfect for a relaxing break. It was great to have lovely riverside dog walks straight from the front door, without the need to drive anywhere. We enjoyed exploring this part of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Really enjoyed our stay here, the property was ideal both clean and modern. The area was quiet and plenty of birds singing away. Good travel networks for local places like Beverley, Hull, Bridlington and Goole.

This is a great little dog friendly cottage in an area that is actually well placed for visiting Yorkshire and Lincolnshire as well as being quiet and rural with really interesting birds and wildlife (hedgehogs in the garden) and the attraction of being on the River Ouse where you can watch merchant ships going to and fro. We loved our stay, it was exactly what we were looking for. Nice and secluded with great dog walks on our doorstep. Not far from the lovely market town of Howden for supplies. Really comfy and will definitely be returning as it was a great base for us.

We stayed at Yew Tree Cottage from 22nd until 28th December. We had a wonderful Christmas! The cottage is just beautiful! The christmas decorations and tree were a lovely touch. Cottage was spotless, kitchen had everything you could need whilst there , very quiet location lots of walks, just be aware the roads to get to cottage are very narrow but well worth the adventure to get to cottage

The cottage was really lovely, very clean and warm. The furnishings and decor were beautifully done, it was a really pleasant place to stay. The area is not one I have visited before even though I grew up in Hull just about 20 miles away. The cottage was lovely and comfortable, it seemed a shame Id booked for 4 nights as I could have happily stayed for a week. Its so peaceful and felt like home from home.
