Let the sights and sounds of the sea wash over you when in this nautical-inspired cottage on the Yorkshire coast. Within easy reach of Robin Hood’s Bay (0.5 miles), a beloved destination on Yorkshire’s rugged and ever-changing coastline, you’re welcome to mosey on down to the beach and enjoy other fishing village amenities without needing to jump in the car. Whether you drive or enjoy a long, rewarding walk a little further away, you’ll be pleased to find Scarborough (14 miles) and Whitby (5.5 miles) within reach. Entertainment is a huge focus in this family-ready cottage, a space sleeping six guests with a Smart TV, Sony Bluetooth speakers and a host of toys and games to choose from for restful downtime.

Said features can all be found in the fabulous lounge on the property’s ground floor. This inviting family room offers ample comfy seating and a wood-burner effect fire at one side, creating the cosiest spot to relax when evening falls. Next door, the kitchen offers everything you need to dish up dinner and a dining room at the front of the house presents space to sit down together. When it gets dark, move through to the first floor to find three bedrooms, the largest of which is a double with an en-suite bathroom and a sumptuous free-standing bath. The other two bedrooms, a double and a twin, share a bright family bathroom.

A heritage holiday destination, Robin Hood’s Bay offers winding cobble streets, an array of shops and eateries and a sandy beach (1 mile) with fascinating rockpools and far-reaching views of craggy cliffs. The cliff path that encompasses this village is known as the Cleveland Way, an incredible 110-mile route that stretches all the way up the breadth of the Yorkshire coast. Follow this route up to Whitby or down to Scarborough admiring seascapes as you go.

This was a great cottage, really well equipped with everything you would need in the kitchen and a welcome pack of milk, butter, biscuits and wine. The cottage was so clean and beautiful bed linen. The cottage is in upper Robin hood bay but in walking down into lower RHB (a short walk away) we were glad as access would be difficult with luggage. We had a great week bringing my parents (90 and 92) to where my mother grew up; visiting family and familiar places once again. The holiday cottage was perfect for us as a base and for local walks. And the pub opposite a bonus

By far the best appointed house we have ever stayed in. Super thoughtful and generous hosts meant we thoroughly enjoyed our week at Vale View. There are 2 shops within 1 minutes walk and both offer meal options as well as the usual supplies. The stairs really are steep, but we got used to using them slowly with care and had no mishaps (10 & 13 yearRead more old kids). Hide
