Enjoy the unique experience of a stay within this exquisite, historic hideaway near Ellerton in Yorkshire. Nestled within the scenic grounds of a 16th-century farmhouse, the delightful, two-bedroom retreat has been beautifully converted to sleep four guests. Situated 15 miles from historic York, it offers sumptuous interiors, a sun-soaked, private courtyard garden and the chance to enjoy tranquillity and natural beauty, as well as days out to the vibrant city.
Make your way into the enticing, red-brick bolthole to find yourselves in an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which has underfloor heating and exposed wood and brickwork. Head over to the farmhouse-style kitchen area to unpack the fresh produce you have sourced on your forays and then rustle up a tasty Yorkshire-style meal. Gather around the table in here to feast together then make your way over to the lounge to sink back into the soft seating. Find your favourite boxset on the Smart TV, listen to music or make plans for the following day. When you are ready to turn in for the night, choose between the double bedroom or the king-size, which can also be arranged as a twin if discussed in advance. The double bedroom is downstairs and has Jack and Jill access to the family bathroom. The king-size can be found up on a mezzanine level. Dine out in the sunshine on fine days, taking in the glorious views and perhaps cooking on the BBQ. There is a duck pond within the grounds making this cottage unsuitable for children under eight unless they are babes in arms.
Head out on long walks through the rolling Yorkshire Wolds. Plan an afternoon out to the picturesque Stillingfleet Lodge Garden, 15 miles away. Head into York to browse in the colourful, independent shops of the Shambles, dine out and visit the minster.
