Booked in a hurry then saw previous reviews and was concerned so contacted Holiday Cottages and they spoke to the owner. I am pleased to say that we found the cottage in a clean condition. There is much to like but have to concur with earlier reviewers in that the owners need to undertake some maintenance and upgrading work. The location of the cotRead moretage is super and some TLC would make all the difference and bring the cottage up to the standard that you would expect for the price paid. Hide

Thank you for letting us stay at your cottage, we were lucky with the weather, and did have a nice busy week. The cottage is in a great location. We were pleased with comfy clean beds, the heating and hot water worked a treat, and we were grateful for the washing machine. Lovely little cottage in a fantastic location. Could be cleaner. Quite small. There wasnt any washing up liquid or soap of any type, eg bar of soap or hand wash at the sinks. No tea towel provided. This was the first property we have stayed in in Sandsend where welcome hamper of wine, snacks, bacon, egg etc was not available upon arrival. We did reRead moreceive some bread, butter and milk on day 2, left at the door under the bin lid. Some of the furnishings need updating. The double beds were small. Hide

What a shame that this cottage cleaning management is well below what we expected. We were a little concerned after reading a few reviews, there was no need, the cottage was lovely. The setting is absolutely beautiful and the cottage has everything you need for a beach/country holiday. The beds were really comfortable and big enough for our family of 4. The Wi-Fi is not great but only to be expected in its location.

The location of the property is excellent- superb views from front decking, beautiful back garden with handy covered eating area, easy access to the beach and local amenities. The cottage is very small, (4 adults was tight) but food and clothes storage would be improved with different arrangements, e.g. a full-sized rather than beer fridge in entraRead morence way. Lounge is attractive and comfortable but kitchen needs to be better equipped. We had to buy a cafetiere and had 1 wine glass between us! Hide
