Upon entering, you’re greeted by a spacious lounge area, complete with comfortable seating, an open fire and a TV/DVD player, making it an ideal space for relaxation. Continuing the journey, the open-plan kitchen/diner/garden room captivates with its charming views. The well-appointed kitchen has everything you need to make meal times a breeze, and a snug area provides a perfect spot for post-dinner relaxation. There’s a games room with TV/DVD player, and X-box, and the ground floor also hosts a convenient shower room. Upstairs, four inviting bedrooms await, including a spacious master bedroom with a king-size bed and en-suite shower room. A double room offers serene garden views, while a twin room and a room with a trundle bed cater to various sleeping arrangements. A stylish, contemporary bathroom with a shower over the bath completes the internal layout. Nearby attractions include The Forbidden Corner (13 miles), Aysgarth Falls (17 miles), and Bolton Castle (16 miles). Everything is provided in this rental to make it a home from home. Lovely and spacious with plenty of sofas and easy chairs. Absolutely spotless, well done to the cleaner. Beds were comfy and bedding beautifully laundered.

Fantastic family holiday over New Year. The house is spacious, beautifully decorated with plenty of hot water and comfortable beds. Although initially scared, we rose to the challenge of using an electric Aga and produced competent cakes, and a full roast dinner. Aga cookbook was really helpful, thanks. Rowan House is a beautiful family home. My children, partners and grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. Plenty of room for all of us and our dog.

We thought that the owners paid particular attention to detail. We liked that they left us a hamper and that things like washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets were there as otherwise it would have meant bringing them with us. Our family had a great holiday here. The house is spacious and flows really well. There are areas to socialise or be quiet with comfy seating. We felt at home immediately. Its the perfect location for trips to the beach, dales and Durham area ( Saltburn/ Aysgarth Falls/Wensleydale/Raby Castle/Beamish all within easy driving distance). Had a wonderful family get together at Rowan House, everything we needed for 6 adults. Arrived to a wonderful hamper which was a nice surprise, including local produce. Situated close to lovely towns and places to visit. Enjoyed the food at the Greyhound, a must for Sunday lunch. Would recommend this property.

The cottage was perfect for 3 generations allowing us lots of space, it felt like a home from home. We could not have asked for more and would consider booking again. Victoria the housekeeper was available for any queries and very kindly sent some left clothes onto me.

Booked a weekend away to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday, thinking was we'd get a nice spacious house and enjoy the weekend with a few drinks and nice meals with a few games. I can't recomend this house and owners highly enough - and I'm picky and in general don't write reviews.
