The Ropery was a lovely house to stay in with plenty of space for 8 of us to stay plus 2 more friends who joined us for the evening. It was warm with plenty of hot water. The bathrooms and showers were good and the beds were comfortable with good quality bedding. The kitchen had all we needed to cook with and a spacious table to comfortably sit 10 Read morepeople around. It is centrally located in Pickering, with easy parking and walking distance to the shops and the steam railway. Hide

If you want to be a very short distance from all the pubs, cafes, great restaurants and independent shops this spacious house is for you. Pickering is a lovely, prosperous town with great bus links to the coast, we enjoyed our stay very much. The furnishings are looking a little tired now and the outside areas need urgent attention. The TV could doRead more with an upgrade but these minor things did not spoil our experience. Hide

Potentially a perfect location for access to the coast and all of inland Ryedale but the maintenance of the property is less than thorough. Also reference to 'Railway Cottages' leads SatNav to the wrong place and this needs changing

A great holiday spot for our 3 families on a half term break - easy access to the railway and the seaside. The cottage was well-equipped for our needs and really comfortable for children and adults alike
