Dine alfresco on the terrace while taking in the far-reaching countryside views or pop open a bottle of bubbly in the sociable open-plan living area with traditional cottage interiors in this cosy couple’s bolthole. Enjoy romantic strolls through nature, picnics by waterfalls and wildflower meadows, and trips to quaint English villages during your escape in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Everything is in one neat and cosy space inside this country cottage. As you step inside the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, your attention will be drawn to the large, elegant stone fireplace with a wood burner-effect fire. The stone floor and wooden beamed ceiling add character while chic antique-style furnishings fill the lounge area. Next to the farmhouse-style galley kitchen is a small dining table with two chairs. Climb the stairs to reach a king-size bedroom with a vaulted wooden beamed ceiling, a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom. Outside, you’ll find an elevated terrace with a bistro set.
During your stay in the northern hills of the Yorkshire Dales, head into the village of Keld (0.5 miles) for a stroll along the River Swale before stopping at the local cafe and hiking along the Kisdon Force trail which takes you past several waterfalls. Step back in time with a trip to the ruins of Pendragon Castle and Lammerside Castle (13 miles). More cascading waterfalls can be found in the Aysgarth Falls Yorkshire Dales National Park Centre (13 miles). Treat yourself to a meal out or a cream tea in the nearby town of Hawes or Muker village (3 miles).
