From the hall, wander through to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner to settle on the soft seating and take in the scenery from the comfort of a sofa. Pull the doors wide open in here to bring in a fresh country breeze. Watch TV, listen to music or set up a board game for everyone to enjoy. At the kitchen end of the room, you will find everything you need to help you rustle up delicious dishes with the Yorkshire produce you have bought. There is also a table for everyone to congregate around. The cottage, which features wide doorways, includes a king-size bedroom and a family bathroom at ground-floor level. A family shower room is up on the first floor, together with a twin room and a super-king-size that can be made up as a twin by prior agreement. Enjoy long summer lunches out on the patio on fine days. Play games on the lawn with the younger members of your party then have a sundowner as the day turns to night.

Pack a picnic and walk less than 1 mile to Almscliffe Crag with its astounding views. Spend an afternoon admiring the beautiful trees and flowers at RHS Garden Harlow Carr, 6 miles away.
