Explore the beautiful Peak District and vibrant city of Sheffield at this family-friendly property, a smart, contemporary two-bedroom cottage with a wood burner, a ground-floor shower room, underfloor heating downstairs, and an enclosed patio. It has stunning interiors and is perfect for enjoying country walks, local attractions, and city life and welcomes one canine.

The cottage is lovely and light with stunning rooms and features and stylish prints on the walls. Step into the spacious kitchen/diner with contemporary fittings and wooden beams, a large island and bi-fold doors to the patio. There’s a cute lounge with super-stylish furniture and a wood burner for cosy evenings in. Enjoy your culinary creations at the dining table and chairs if you don’t feel like eating out. The gorgeous shower room is off the kitchen and the two double bedrooms are upstairs. Outside, soak up the sun in the fenced south-facing courtyard. Open the bi-fold doors to create a fluid inside/outside space and enjoy drinks and meals alfresco.

Pop out for a drink or something to eat at the two nearby pubs, go into Sheffield for more options and visit the Winter Garden, the Millennium Gallery, the cathedral, and the Botanical Gardens. Head into the Peak District (less than 1 mile) for myriad walks along the pretty hills and ridges. It’s also a great place for climbing and bouldering, and the nearby Derwent Reservoir has fantastic cycling trails (16 miles). Visit Chatsworth House for a walk in the woods up to the Hunting Tower and past the aqueduct (7.5 miles) and take the kids to the farmyard and playground. Visit Bakewell (11 miles), a lovely town with quaint cafes and shops, and the historic spa town of Buxton (22.5 miles), home to an opera house and theatre.

On arrival found the toilet seat splattered with faeces. The cottage had been unoccupied the week prior to our stay, so there was no excuse. The owner has since said this was down to human error. Next, parking. There is no parking directly outside the cottage, the on street parking the owner recommends results with residents shouting through windowRead mores telling you not to park there. Good renovation, well equipped kitchen and excellent top quality appliances. Weather was cold during our break and heating was first class. Very clean, nice bedding, towels and a comfy bed.

Beautiful cottage, spacious and well equipped and great location to head out to peaks every day. We went with our two boys (7 and 4) and we absolutely loved our stay here. Our host was great, very attentive and informative - would highly recommend to anyone looking for a break in the Peak District, would definitely book again. This was a comfortable retreat after busy days helping our family move house nearby. Underfloor heating was a bonus and our little dog loved it too. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable, the bed linen was bright and fresh. Parking was on the road, we mostly managed to park right outside the cottage. The Peak District and SheffieldRead more are only a few minutes by car. You could walk into the Peaks and leave the car behind. Wed love to return! Hide
